Villagers wearing ugly premades!

I've done everything, carrying shirts that I want them to change into, and they don't put them on. Reporting them, but the shirts that they change into are worse!

Anyone have advice? I'm awful at designing my own clothes...

replace the able store designs with hats/dresses or umbrella designs and they wont wear able's clothing. Mail them the outfit you WANT them to wear. 4-5 of the same outfits, so 4-5 letters on that day and the next day they should be wearing it.

They're wearing the starter design shirts like the Ducky Tank and that hideous orange one with the white collar?

If you replace them with designs that are either dresses or umbrellas, villagers can't start wearing them. Any design will work, I usually just use the same starter designs you get at the beginning.

Doesn't do anything about the villagers already wearing them, unfortunately, but it does at least stop new villagers from picking them up.


Have you tried sending them shirts attached to letters? Sometimes they put them in their houses, but sometimes they wear them.

Yeah the starter designs...Beau, Freya and Fang all had the duck one, Diana had the orange, Lolly and Ankha had the all white Dx

Can't seem to get the umbrella design on the shirt mannequins...I have mostly QR codes so I took the 'green wave print' umbrella but I can't switch it?

You can complain about their outfits to Isabel at the town hall if it's off the custom design stands and they will change out of them immediately, then they are more likely to wear what you send them or ping you for an outfit you're carrying.

Complaining about their outfit just makes them change into this ugly white and red gym shirt. As for pinging you for an outfit you're carrying? It'll be totally random and take too much time. (TRUST ME, i tried this method, merengue NEVER ping'd me despite the fact that i stalked her for days and days) However, just mailing them 5 of the same outfits in letters will be quicker, more successful, and less stress.

As I was working on my current path design. I had to transfer design from one character to another. I displayed the path design at Able's for a few minutes. The next thing I know is Erik is wearing my path design by the time I logged on to my 2nd character.

Worked three times in a row for me. Once they are in the ugly plain gym shirt, thats when they kinda are on the look out for something new to wear.

didnt work for me when she was wearing the duck shirt or the gym shirt... and i followed her for hours, for days, reloading and reloading with just the chef outfit in my bag. HOWEVER when i was carrying a bunny shirt, she ping'd me right away for it.

Maybe theres another method you did?
