Villagers VS Their Houses

I like Muffy’s house but I’m not particularly fond of sheep villagers. I love Chief but I hate his house. Lol. Are there any villagers you like but hate their house? Or are there houses you like but don’t particularly like the villager who owns it? Do you decide to keep villagers because their houses go with your theme or vice versa?

I do have to admit that Hippeaux's house is pretty cool. It helps make me realize that the idea of Hippeaux is cool, they could have designed him to be more appealing and that makes me sad. =(

I like Lobo but his house doesn't fit my town's theme. I don't think any of the houses are necessarily bad, though, maybe boring or unfitting for some aesthetics.

I loved Tom so much in NL but his new house kind of broke my heart.

I really like Kid Cat, but I dislike his house! Especially the exterior. I also don't like his interior, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is I don't like about it.

Yes, but only the interior. The exterior is still unique to that villager, but their inside decor is generic to that personality.

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I don’t mind it too much. In a way those starter interiors are nicer than some of the unique ones.

Unfortunately, it's true. Your first 5 villagers (the 2 starters, then the 3 island invites) are stuck with generic interiors even though their house exteriors are special to them.

What I think should have happened is that your villagers progressively add their tastes/styles to their generic houses so that by about a week in-game they would have their unique interior, know what I mean? Ugh why Nintendo

Yes, the next villager who moves in will have their normal (not beginner) house.

And if a starter villager (with a generic house) moves to another Island, their interior changes to the individual style!

I generally don't care much about villager's houses. It's never something that's made me not want someone in my town. That being said, Rocco's interior is straight up awful. I cringe every time I go inside.

I love Shari, but am not crazy about her NH house. The color scheme (dark-ish purple) seems really dark and heavy compared to Shari's appearance and personality. I thought her NL home, which was colorful custom cabana furniture, suited her much better.

I'm almost starting to re-think trying to get her for my island. But I don't have any other uchis that I like as much!

i also dislike the round shaped houses, i don't hate them and they were much worse in new leaf but i wish i had the choice to make all the villager houses in my neighborhood area rectangular!

screaming because i was gonna say this too. i had her as a starting villager so her house is basic, but on her birthday i gifted her cabana looking items thinking it would make the house more like her. then i saw from a thread here how her actual house looks like. it's so different from her old one!
