Villagers that you disliked at first but now grew to appericiate them more

We all have villagers like these, mostly it came from the personallity type alone.

For me, I never liked Mathilda for the longest time
When I started out my first New Leaf town back in October of last year, I actually enjoyed her quite a bit.
But then I started to grew more...meh, towards her over the months.

She moved out of that town in January and that was the last I saw her.

Nowadays, now that I grew more of an appreciation towards Snooty villagers.
I don't find her that bad as I thought she was, but to be honest she's not one of the best villagers out there.

But what about you?
What were some of the villagers that you can't stand at first but grew to like them as time went on?

Rooney! I didn't like him at first since he moved right in front of my house. But I got used to seeing him every morning whenever I started up my town. He was so cute and when he wanted to move, I was so on the fence about it since I did start to like him and he was already in my town for 2 months. I told him to stay after much debate and the next month after that he asked to moved again. I told him okay since I wanted space for Hamlet, but then he wouldn't move and got angry and said he'd stay anyways in order for us to become better friends. Lol, I was kinda happy since I still didn't really want him to leave, plus I wanted Lyman to leave more and so I kept him for another month until he finally was happy with our friendship and was okay with leaving. It was a really sad occasion. He left a huge hole and dirty spot in my heart and town
