Villagers that are more popular with guys/girls?

Are there any villagers you've noticed are most popular with different genders? For example, ive noticed marshal, merengue, diana, ect are more popular with girls (but not limited to) and someone like kid cat is more popular with guys. Do you guys think there are any villagers more popular with guys/girls?

I suppose it depends on the type of animal and the overall design. I'm a fan of the wolf villagers, and I like the design of most of them exept for about 1 or 2 of them.

I also think the overall popularity of the villager in general affects it.

I tend to favour very cute villagers and mainly lean towards girls. I also prefer hamsters and deer more than any other group. My favourite villagers are Apple, Flurry, Fauna, Diana, Chrissy and Merengue. When my boyfriend played, his favourite villagers were usually male and he liked the alligators and dogs more than any other group. In particular Del, Biskit, Bones and Walker.

But we both liked Cheri a lot. She was in each of our towns and because we both liked her it became a bit of a thing. When one of us was playing we would show the other what Cheri was doing or say if we were running an errand for Cheri. I don't know why, lol, it was just something we both had in common because we liked the same villager the most.

I would say there's a difference in the popularity of villagers between female and male players, but that doesn't mean girls only like pink and cutesy ones while boys will favour the testosterone-filled and more tough looking villagers.

I am a girl and I've never liked the really cute, pink characters that much. I like a lot of male villagers. I'm a big fan of the wolfs and I like the male wolfs better than the female ones. That being said, I also have Marshal, but that's more because he reminds me of my little brother.

I'm not sure since I can't tell what sex people are on here. But I'm a guy and I just pick ones that have the most cute/interesting designs, and more natural looking villagers are boring save for a few. And I lean towards male villagers most since I love all male personalities.

This thread is prob gonna start some kinda argument but the villagers that came to mind for me were cube and ribbot... I feel theyre more liked by males (from experience...trading)...though I could be totally wrong! And this is not something that I would bet on

One of my favorite villagers, Puddles is pink, but I actually don't like the color pink. I didn't think about whether she was cute or not when I first met her when I started this town. I ended up liking her and eventually concluded that she's cute because she's so nice to me and a bunch of other things. I love the cat villagers because I love cats in real life :]. Some of the villagers I like that I have met or have in my town, aren't even cute--Gaston and Harry are two examples.

I don't think there are many people who have towns with almost all or all of the villagers of the same gender as they are, but 10 or the 15 tier 1 villagers are female, so maybe the overwhelming female majority of users on this site prefer female villagers. As a male, I can't see too many other males really liking Merengue or Diana. I'd like to hear from other males if my assumption is true or not. Also, I can imagine most males here not being particularly fond of snooty villagers while females might not like jock or cranky villagers. Again, this is just an assumption and I'd like to hear from other people on this.

I think I like all the villagers, cannot be too cute or gruff for me. I did notice that my home interior is stereotypically masculine tho.

I'd have to agree with Red Cat that it's really obvious when it comes to villager personalities. I often see female players that don't like jocks (&uchis?) and male players that don't like snooties/peppies.

I'm female and I partly fit the AC stereotype in that the jocks really don't appeal to me. However I also really don't like the super pink fluffy villagers with sparkly eyes.

I'm female and I don't like snooties, jocks (I have to meet more; I think I liked Drift when he camped (but then again, he didn't go on about his abs <.< like Hamlet does), smugs (I have to meet more; I only have Keaton), I'm not sure what to think about Uchis (I don't like Paula; at first she was okay, but now...).

Can someone name some of the villagers that are considered too cute? I'll have to look at the pictures and see if I like them all; and maybe I'd need to meet them too.

Dunquixote - I was thinking along the lines of Merengue/Cookie/Chrissy. They're certainly not ugly, but not my kind of cute.

Im male and like jocks the best and snooties the least. I actually hate sports and things like that but i just love jocks because they are funny and happy and the most entertaining personality, and to me they have the best overall designs. Snooties are okay, its not that i dont like them its just that their designs dont appeal to me especially the popular ones you see everywhere like Diana, Whitney, Ankha, and Francine. The only snooties i really like are Miranda, Amelia, Soleil, Annalise, Willow, and Olivia, but i never get to see anyone with them except for Olivia and eventually Soleil or Annalise in my towns.

I guess id say the personalities in order from my favorite to least favorite are are jock, uchi, peppy, lazy, normal, cranky, smug, snooty

I tend to see more girls go for the cute 'dreamy' types like Julian, Marshal, Merengue, Beau, and all those... While the guys go for grumps? Lol I don't know. I'm sure everyone has their own taste in villager types/designs, mine personally is simple original designs and my favorite personalities are lazy, uchi, and cranky.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the appearances of the villagers lean feminine. There are a number of villagers which are very feminine looking (Merengue, Chrissy, Diana, Cookie, Puddles) and some which are very masculine looking (Bam, Wolfgang, Lobo, Apollo, Butch, Static), but I think there are a lot of feminine looking males and not as many masculine looking females. For example the two most popular wolves, Fang and Chief, have somewhat feminine looking appearances despite being cranky males. Marshal looks very feminine for a male. Beau looks kind of feminine. Even Kid Cat, despite being a jock superhero, does not really look physically imposing in any way or have any really masculine traits appearance wise. Just looking at my villagers, Rosie, Olivia, Kitty, are very feminine while Tangy and Mitzi are kind of more in the middle. Punchy, Bob, and Moe are all "cute looking" males while Kid Cat is not all that tough looking to me as I said earlier. Kabuki is the only one who really looks like a "tough guy" to me. For lack of better terms, I'd say I have 3 "princesses", 2 "tomboys", 3 or 4 "cute guys" and only 1 or 2 "tough guys", depending on what you think of Kid Cat's appearance, even though gender wise, it's split 5:5 in my town. Maybe this is just my opinion and it could be that there are more very masculine looking villagers in the lower tiers that I'm just ignoring because I don't see them as often, but I'd like to hear other people's thoughts on it. To me, it seems like not all females like "princesses" and not all males like "tough guys", but it does seem like males really don't like "princesses" and females don't like "tough guys".

also i have very few "masculine" villagers, I think the only one would be Kabuki, as Red Cat stated earlier.
