Is it possible for villagers to take flowers and items from the ground? I read that they could take hybrids.

if they get crushed, yeah

in which case they'll go to the police station's lost and found (if items, flowers will just stay crushed)

also, if you don't have the police station the items will just show up in it once you have it unlocked and built

I once had a villager plant a flower at the same time I was planting a hybrid, on the same square, and the hybrid disappeared.

But, this is obviously not likely at all. I'd just stay away from villagers while planting.

I have police station. But is it possible for items to randomly disappear? Also can a villager plant a flower anywhere in town ( Even on items or flowers )? Even if the item or flowers had been there for a long time already?

No, they can't plant on top of other items/flowers. And items do not randomly disappear.

Flowers won't randomly disappear either? A villager sent me a black rose once. Hmm wonder how they got that. And I don't send them flowers.

They can disappear if you don't have beautiful ordinance, but they should be wilted the day before. I have beautiful ordinance and a ton of flowers and they never disappear.

Does anyone feel a little bad when a villager plants a flower and you immediately shovel it up? I wait until they're not looking, though I know they don't really know about it.

Uchi villagers give you a random hybrid on occasion, if they have a high friendship with you. They don't don't take your flowers, but they can give you some.
Only Uchi's give you hybrids, but villagers also plant flowers if they are near one with a random basic flower of the same type.

I sometimes do. But my village is in a state right now were I can move the flower somewhere else to grow hybrids. ^^'

The answers your various questions in order (kind of):

No, items will not randomly disappear. This includes flowers. The only way in which the game can make them disappear without you prompting it is if something gets built on top of the flowers, like a PWP or house. Villagers can't take those items either.

Villagers can plant flowers anywhere but they can't plant them on top of other flowers, they will just plant them near it. I don't know if they can plant them on top of non-flower items but I would guess not.

Villagers can send you hybrids in the mail, not because they've stolen it, but because it's a feature of the game that the villagers will sometimes send you random items. You don't need to have had a carnation in your game to get one from your character's mother in the mail (and if you already have any, they won't disappear just because of that). When you go see an Uchi after being stung by a bee, medicine won't disappear from another location when they give you medicine for it. It's just random. The feature is probably intended as a way to make villager gifts more varied and to make life easier for people breeding hybrids.

In my opinion, if items have been disappearing from your town then there are a few explanations. It could be a random glitch that has caused the problem. If you've ever left your gates open while not minding the game, or had guests you didn't supervise, it's possible that they stole it from you (or if you share the game with other people). I also think it's possible that you may have killed that flower without noticing (by running or digging) or that you may have taken it unintentionally or have forgotten about it.

By the way, I'm not saying you're lying. But unless you saw one of the villagers take this item from you, it's really unlikely that that's what happened. It's way more likely that another player took it, that it was killed in some way by accident, or that the game glitched out and made it disappear.
