Villagers sick on their birthday

On Wednesday (July 2nd), I saw that Apollo was sick. Normally, a villager being sick wouldn't be that interesting, but Apollo's birthday is on July 4th.

Does this mean that I won't get to celebrate with him? IS INDEPENDENCE DAY CANCELLED?!?!

I had Yuka sick the same as you, two days before her birthday. She was cured on the third day and sent me a letter on the fourth saying how much she appreciated me looking after her, if I remembered it correctly.
