Villagers selling their items in Re-Tail

hey tbt! i've got a question. if a villager has a piece of furniture up in Re-Tail and they move out, will that furniture remain in the store even after they've left? or will it go back in their house?

I'm pretty sure it disappears also. I think I checked it once when moving villagers between towns. (before I started blocking Retail)
I was hoping it would appear back in the villager's house.
