Villagers not moving?

So I've been doing a little work around my town for the past hour and I've noticed Bangle and Ketchup have been standing in the same place the whole time. Bangle has a bag and Ketchup has a broom but she's not using it. They're just standing there and doing their idle animations. I thought maybe it was because I was in construction mode but after taking the helmet off, they're still standing there. Anyone else having this problem?
 
That's really strange. Are you able to/comfortable with time traveling one day back, then one day forward? I wonder if that'll "reset" the villagers

I reset the software and it seems to get the villagers back to their schedules, but it's still an odd glitch, I wonder what triggered it...
 
yea I think theres a lot of glitches still in acnh, unfortunately :( I had something similar happen last night, marina stood for like 30 mins facing town hall, doing nothing.

once I also went into wolfgangs house, and no one was inside.... then I exited and the house changed to show they're not at home...
 
Have you tried emoting them and pushing them from their spot? Sometimes my villagers would idle and I would push them elsewhere. But they still try to go back to their original position/place.

Yeah I've been seeing a few glitches with Phil
When I adopted him from another town, he was working at an invisible workbench, luckily I was still able to adopt him
And today is the day after he moved in, and he was no where in sight. Couldn't find him anywhere but his house said he was out, but I was still scared his plot was glitched
After resetting the software he's on my island and all my villagers doing the stuff they normally do, but still
Hopefully this gets patched

Yeah, I tried talking to them too, nothing.

I've never seen villagers with fleas go idle? They usually continue to walk around, but no they didn't have fleas either.
 
all my villagers are from islands/the campsite, so honestly I think its just buggy code :( and yea the glitched houses when you adopt... sigh, theres honestly still so many glitches, I guess the brightside is nintendo is patching pretty quickly

oh true. i mean, just sometimes. because this happened to me 2-3 times, i didn't know why they were not moving. then i hit them with a net and apparently there were fleas lol
 
I visited someone's island yesterday and entered a villager's home to find that no one was inside.
I found that rather odd.

I have also been noticing sporadic animation glitches where they seem to be stuck in a loop repeating the same facial gesture or whatever - not that common though and they don't really bother me so much as when I move around, they seem to go back to whatever it is they were doing.
However; needless to say, this game has A LOT of glitches with the most prominent one being the villager moving glitch.
That needs to be fixed ASAP.
 
I had this happen to me yesterday: Piper was standing in front of her door, facing it, not moving. I could not talk to her. Beating her with a net didn't help either. She was there for HOURS. The next day she was in her house and I couldn't enter. Restarting the game fixed it.
