Villagers Moving Right in Front of Buildings

I was so happy to hear that the hydrangeas are blooming tomorrow so I planned to plant some bushes.. But no, Klaus stuck his plot right in front of my Re-tail.

Plot resetting is great when you finally discover it.

When I was plot resetting for Fang, he must have put his plot right in front of my mayors office at least 5 times. Just.. no, you can't live there, I'm sorry. Francine really seemed to want to live right in front of my caf? too.

Well, before I knew about plot resetting Robin moved in three steps underneath my house.

I've had villagers try to move right in front of the cafe plenty of times. It's really awkward, man. Try moving in a better spot.

Lucky moved in front of the town hall.. Also Marshal moved right in front of my home and it's still there

This is what I did the moment I started my town:

Built lamp posts all around my house. (Well, from the moment I could build PWPs.)
Check the map in my signature to see the area I "fenced off"
Afterwards I proceeded to do the same with the town hall and town tree.

Ain't putting up with no %@#$ from villagers.

uh but yeah back to the original topic ive had marina move to where my favorite old neighbor kiki was. i love marina but the fact she took her spot kind of upset me...just a little. also, static moved on my enormous patch of hybrid roses.

Flurry moved in right in front of one of my bridges. And since I unlocked a new design I was changing them all and when it came to that one it was too close to her house so the bridge had to be moved over.

Zucker lives DIRECTLY in front of my town hall. As in, you can't see some of the stones because his house obscures them. He was an unexpected move in so I didn't plot reset, but I've come to accept that his house is going to be in a rather inopportune spot and there's not much that can be done about it - unless I decided to let him leave and that's not going to happen.

Pietro moved in front of my Town Hall which bothered me last month when I wanted to put some PWPs there, so now he's gone...
Francine moved in front of Brewster's, but I couldn't be bothered to make her move then go through the 16 villager cycle to get her into a better plot

I really think they should have made restrictions on how close villagers houses could be in front of another building. I mean with all the restrictions on how close PWPs can be to stuff it doesn't make sense that someone can move so close in front of another building that their house is blocking half of it!

There are restrictions on it. There's a required minimum clearance of 2 squares around a building, and 3 squares in front of the door. If there was more than that the game would be at risk of bricking itself from not having enough space to go around for all villagers and potential public works.

What doesn't make sense though, is that we're the mayor and we can't govern where new residences go.

I got Punchy as a random wi-fi move-in and he decided to plop his house one space from Re-Tail.

Mira placed her house one space away from Re-tail, but I put a path around it so it doesn't look too bad.

Olaf moved almost directly in front of my town hall (before I know how to plot reset)

Bree plopped herself a few spaces diagonal from the train station, and it looks really bad, so I'm going to move her out. It's a shame I didn't think to plot reset, because she's a cutie!
