Do you guys think that people should have to pay for their dreamies? I gave away: Tangy, Ankha, Tia, Etc; away for free. It's insane how people will pay up to 20mil for a villager. :l

If I ever had a villager moving out that was popular enough, I'd host a giveaway/raffle. I personally don't mind paying for dreamies though, some people need the bells/villagers/whatever your trading for them.

Well, I'm a desperate person, so here's how I got all my dreamies:

Marshal- move in
Whitney- move in
Fang- move in
Kid Cat- move in
Kyle- giveaway
Goldie- giveaway
Flurry- giveaway
Rosie: 10 million
Erik- 7 million
Cherry- 2 million

Well... okay, not as bad as I thought it would be before I typed that list, but still, I payed 19 million bells for 3 dreamies XD I just love them and wanted them so much, I just can't help myself ;_;

I don't mind the selling or buying of villagers. I think it is a good thing if someone gets their dreamies this way and are happy about it. I personally don't plan to buy villagers though. If I have one villager moving I would just give him away, especially if he is a dreamie for someone.

I give mine away but ironically I paid millions for most of them .... go figure lol

It always struck me as kind of a weird thing to monetize. I've sold one, never bought, and I think I'd rather take my chances campsite resetting than pay tens of millions of bells for a villager. It's almost borderline creepy in a way that's difficult to put to words.

I always trade or give away villagers for free, even popular ones.
That said, I don't mind people who sell them and I don't mind buying them (although so far I have adopted all my dreamies for free).
Mostly I'm just too lazy to sell mine.
I think auctions are pretty much the best way to give out villagers in high demand.

I can imagine that people sell their villagers for Bells. I have once made it to a Million Bells ingame, but with PWPs and my house still being built, I usually have little to no Bells.

But doing a giveaway sounds like a option for me, if I ever want to throw out a villager. Or trade them for some items or furniture, especially the downloadable contents from other regions. It's actually what I am doing with Ankha, once I have Wifi and she wants to move out. She's going to a nice new home in Japan where she's a long-wanted dreamie and I will get some nice items =)

I have always given away my villagers, but that said, if someone is willing to buy from someone, no one is forcing anyone to make that decision. It's all choice. If people stopped buying popular villagers, I don't think people would try to sell them as much. You're basically paying for convenience though. I don't see a problem with it. It's just virtual currency anyway. :P

though it'd be nice getting them for free, I don't mind paying. In fact I think I paid for most of my villagers lol.... at least if I pay, then I can help the person selling them financially, and guarantee that I get the villager! (as opposed to raffles and stalking cycling threads lol)

however, I never sell my villagers, I think I've given/traded all of my old villagers away :)

i honestly don't mind. with the fact it's not too hard to make money nowadays with the online turnip market and stuff (1 hr of buying/selling = 6-8mil profit more or less), some ppl have no other use for their money. i'm done with making 4/5 perfect (imo) rooms of my house and got most of my sets that there's really nothing else to use my money on except my dream villagers 40mil and nothing to spend it on really makes the game kinda boring if you can't make everything the way you want ._.

I honestly don't mind paying for a dreamie if I want them enough, heres how I got all of my villagers:

Avery - Adopted
Goldie - Payed 1 mil and some DLC items
Leonardo - Adopted
Mint - Natural move-in
Ozzie - Starter
Pate - Starter
Poncho - Natural move-in
Roscoe - Adopted
Soleil - Starter
Stitches - Won in a raffle

I will always give away my villagers for free. So far, I've been lucky and gotten 7 of 10 dreamies, all free in giveaways. I thought I'd pay for Whitney, but was super lucky to have been given her without charge! I don't think I could bring myself to pay. I'd rather wait for a giveaway.

I've only sold one, and it was Erik. Now I just give them away and am trying to earn bells by other means.
It's not a crime to sell villagers. I buy them all the time. It's helpful.
What IS a crime is selling villagers that were given to you for free. uvu That'll get your ass kicked.

I personally don't like the idea of selling and buying villagers. To me, it feels like some sort of slave market.

I got mine like this:

Hopper - Campsite
Hans - Campsite
Mira (Moving in soon) - gift
Ankha - around 2.5 mil auction (I don't normally like to buy villagers, but she was one that I HAD to regain. I did bid more, but after so many bells I was told it was enough.)
Marina - Campsite
Drago - Campsite
Clay - Starter
Rory - gift
Bam - Starter
Phoebe - Random move in

If someone wants to pay then they can, while it is nice to have bells for pwps and such I'd MUCH rather give away the dreamies since i know how much people would want their dreamies like i did with some of my villagers. And it feels so much better to give away the villagers.

I'm personally fine with buying and selling villagers. Some people need the bells since PWP's and house expansions are expensive. I sometimes sell my villagers, but I mostly do giveaways though. I got all my villagers by -
Tangy - Move in
Coco - Move in
Pietro - 1 Mil
Frita - Campsite
Merengue - Giveaway
Whitney - Giveaway
Fang - Giveaway
Stitches - 7 Mil
Cube - Move in
Kid Cat - Giveaway

I actually only spent 8 Mil on my dreamies. 0.0
