Villagers don't need help

None of the villagers need help cause of new years and i am mad so i haven't played AC:WW since i found out :Walked over to play Mario and Luigi Partners in time:

Maybe they do that on holidays.....because this was the first holiday in Animal Crossing right? Because I've only had it since Dec. 25, and its only been out for 36 days.
