Okay, so I recently found my dream layout and settled down on the cliff with a nice but small home that I need to upgrade.

Anyways, as I'm walking around town to water flowers, I get 4 pings in under 5 minutes.

Ping #1 - Mathilda.

Mathilda asks me for a new catchphrase. I think this is odd, because it's only my second day on this town, and I TTed to achieve my second day. I've only got 3 or so hours stacked up total, and I've only spoken with Mathilda about 5 times, making it highly unlikely I've already gotten to the point in our relationship where they want a new catchphrase.

Ping #2 - Skye.

So about 20 seconds after I give Mathilda a new catchphrase, Skye walks over the bridge, sees me, and pings. I talk to her, and she gives me a new shirt, one of the ___ ball tees, but I don't remember which one- I just remember it was gray. Skye then walks away, and Jay runs over.

Ping #3 - Jay

Jay's ping was literally right after I finished talking to Skye. He ran up to me and gave me a 9 ball tee, which is really odd since not long before, maybe 10 minutes, he'd given me another one of the ___ ball tees, so at this point, I have 3 out of the collection of them. Oddly enough, when Jay had given me the shirt earlier, I'd only greeted him, because I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep him or not yet. After he gave me the shirt I decided he's cool, though. XD

Ping #4 - Jay

Once again, Jay pinged as soon as I walked over the bridge. He asked me for a new catchphrase. I gave him the catchphrase "jaywalker" because I thought that'd work with his name, and in my previous games, Jay would never use the sidewalks on my paths. So yeah, I thought it fit.

Anyways, I'm just wondering how common it is to get a string of 4 pings, one after another. ;-;

Well I wouldn't say it's common but if you don't personally walk up to your villagers and talk to them for a while, they will ping at you.

I got Pinky to ping twice in the span of a few minutes, so I guess friendliness has to do with it?
