Hello~

I am highly considering playing Animal Crossing New Horizons; what intrigues me most about the game is the villagers.

I trying to find some basic answers about villagers besides how to get them to move out and their personality type.

1. What do they do on your island?

2. What can you do with them or how do you usually interact with them other than giving them gifts and writing them letters?

3. Do they become good friends with other villagers?

4. Have you ever had a villager who never had the thinking bubble that represents that they want to leave? For example, a villager who is completely satisfied with living on your island.

5. Who is your favorite villager and why?

Thank you for taking the time to read and/or answer these questions. :)

Hii welcome, you absolutely should play the game!

1. What do they do on your island?
All the villagers have a hobby. According to it they can sing, read outside, run around, study the bugs... Other then that they can visit the shops and museum, fish, catch bugs, visit each other's houses, sit on the areas you create, eat and drink, and more.

2. What can you do with them or how do you usually interact with them other than giving them gifts and writing them letters?
You can talk to them, visit their house... Gifts are the most relevant part I think, because it causes the friendship level to be raised. They can also be sick and ask for medicine, invite you to do a treasure hunt, ask to buy your stuff or sell you stuff, give you things, teach you reactions. You can also give them nicknames, greetings and catchphrases

3. Do they become good friends with other villagers?
Yes, apparently there are villagers that get along and others not, and so they may fight. Some personalities are closer to each other. Someone else may have more knowledge in this area

4. Have you ever had a villager who never had the thinking bubble that represents that they want to leave? For example, a villager who is completely satisfied with living on your island.
I have some that never asked, but I think this is random, it doesn't have anything to do with friendship levels

5. Who is your favorite villager and why?
I think Dobie, his house is nice and he fits the cranky personality well. Also Raymond

1. They have a house, will teach you reactions, ask you to do favors (gift delivery, treasure hunt, etc), and do stuff around the island like fishing and catching bugs.

2. Most of the interaction comes from the conversations that you can cave with them. They'll sometimes give you random clothing, try to sell you stuff or as I said, ask for a delivery/ treasure hunt.

3. You can catch them having conversations with other villagers, but whether they get along or not depends on their set personalities. THey don't have friendship points with each other like we do with them.

4. No, while the bubble is weighted against villagers you are good friends with, everyone has the chance to want to move away.

5. My favorite is Kid Cat because he's somehow followed me through WW and NL and is living on my island in NH

I'm sure I've missed something is someone else wants to fill the gaps :D

1. It depends on their hobby, if their hoppy is music, they like to sing. If their hobby is playing, they like to run around.

2. You can help them if they asked you something, like catching a fish, deliver stuff to another villager. How do you know if they want your help? They'll have a thought bubble, but you already talked to them. If you haven't talk to them, it means they want to move out(if you haven't/have talk to them that day). Maybe you find them talk to each other, you can talk to them and hear their conversation. Sometime they ask you for opinions, sometime they don't.

3. Not sure about this one, but I think so. Sometime they argue to each other while having a conversation. And they want to make up. Sometimes they in a another villager home.

4. No I haven't. That's just your luck. But of the villager recently moved in, they won't move out until someone else did.

5. Too many, lol

Thank you for your answers! Yes. I am going to play it this fall. I want to see if the fall update is going to have farming and cooking. I am a big harvest moon fan so the possibility of farming sounds exciting! Either way I am definitely going to play it.

hi there!

i'll do my best to answer these questions as much as i can ~ ^^

1. this is a very broad question, but essentially villagers are there for the main purpose of interaction! you can become very good friends with your villagers and also see their interactions with one another. some people really get into the game and give their villagers unique personalities to contrast them from one another! there are 8 main personalities, and it can make for some interesting interactions (unless you're like me and hoard lazy villagers, lol.)

2. usually, i like to give gifts however sometimes, they'll ask for things, like for you to deliver a gift to another villager, do a treasure hunt, catch them a bug or fish, etc etc.

3. not necessarily? some villagers will interact better than others. it's all dependent on their personalities, though. personally, i like to think that some of my villagers are better friends than others, though!

4. nope! villagers will ask to leave, regardless of how happy they may seem on your island. however, in this game, random move-outs are no longer a thing so it's entirely up to you if you let them leave or stay (which i love)

5. Genji! i love this zen little bunny so much. it's ironic because he has my least favorite personality type for the male villagers, but he's my favorite villager overall. he's just too sweet!

all in all, i highly recommend you pickup New Horizons! it's a fun little game and it's a nice way to spend your time!!

1. What do they do on your island?
They basically live their life on the island just like you. But are just AI. They each have their own programmed hobbies/interests, and as mentioned above can be seen watering flowers, chasing bugs, fishing, etc.

2. What can you do with them or how do you usually interact with them other than giving them gifts and writing them letters?
Interact with them, basically. Typical NPC behaviour.

3. Do they become good friends with other villagers?
Yes, but it isn't the same as the player. The game will just randomly determine if they 'get along' depending on various things such as personalities clashing, or if their hobbies are similar.

4. Have you ever had a villager who never had the thinking bubble that represents that they want to leave? For example, a villager who is completely satisfied with living on your island.
There isn't anything in the game that prevents them from moving out, the game will just randomly pick a villager every week or so to prompt the moving out dialogue, no matter how much they like it there or how much they like you.

5. Who is your favorite villager and why?
Skye and Wolfgang. I like wolves, namely these two for various reasons. Mostly nostalgia reasons.

Thank you for taking the time to read and/or answer these questions. :)

1. They live on your island with you and do a range of activities, from wandering about aimlessly, sitting under trees, singing, reading, running around, trying (but never succeeding) to catch bugs and fish, getting in fights, having parties, etc. They are adorable, and the best!

2. I don’t actually like writing letters. It is tedious and does not affect friendship. I talk to them, join conversations they have with other villagers, and watch them do stuff, because they are cute. They also respond to reactions done near them, and at higher friendship will ask to sell to you or buy from you, or trade you stuff, or ask you to deliver gifts for them, or play treasure hunt.

3. They talk to and interact with each other all the time and can influence the others to join in certain activities like play or singing.

4. the moving out thought bubble (villagers thought bubble all the time for a variety of reasons) is largely random and not based on something like ‘satisfaction.’ You should not take it personally. They have a slightly lower chance of asking to move out if you have high friendship with them, especially if you have high friendship with no/ only one or two other villagers (if you are close with all the probability will even out). There is no level at which they will never ask to move out, that is just not how the mechanic works.

5. I have multiple favorites but right now, because I just found her, Tabby. Basically I just think sheis so weird and cute and it is a perfect combination to me. I also really really love Bangle. I invited her as my original peppy and wasn’t sure about her, but I feel she is one of my most active and fun villagers, andI came to really love having her around and now she’s one of my favorites and never moving. Other favorites (right now at least, they change sad time goes on: Genji, Cole, Graham, and Agnes.

yes, I forgot to add that you should definitely play! I had never played an animal crossing game before, and i absolutely love this game. I’ve not grown tired of it after months of playing daily.

Oh really! Never before this one!? Wow! Yes. I am going to get the game. The fall update is coming soon and I am excited to see what they will add. Hopefully farming because I love farming!

1. What do they do on your island?
Villagers will hang out in their own homes, craft DIYs and share recipes with you, they'll hunt for bugs and fish in the rivers/ocean (I don't think they catch things?), they run around the plaza, talk to each other, shop. They do lots around the island! It makes it seem more alive. They'll also interact with furniture that is placed around the island.

2. What can you do with them or how do you usually interact with them other than giving them gifts and writing them letters?
I interact with them by emoting at them, if they're fishing I'll fish next to them.

3. Do they become good friends with other villagers?
It seems like it! They mention each other and will say "oh I made so and so mad". They ask you to give each other gifts, or mention a package was delivered to the wrong house etc. They also visit each other in their homes.

4. Have you ever had a villager who never had the thinking bubble that represents that they want to leave? For example, a villager who is completely satisfied with living on your island.
It doesn't seem like friendship has an effect on villagers wanting to move out. Seems random from what I can tell.

5. Who is your favorite villager and why?
My favorite villager in my current town is Hazel, just because she's so cute! My favorite villager overall is probably Jambette. I like how she looks and her personality is normal which is a solid personality to me.

They'll have a thought bubble, but you already talked to them. If you haven't talk to them, it means they want to move out(if you haven't/have talk to them that day).
LOL, that's something I didn't know, thank you very much! xD

1. What do they do on your island?
Wander around, DIY in their homes (they will give you recipes), engage in hobbies, walk around with sandwiches/drinks/food (where's mine?!), water flowers, etc.

2. What can you do with them or how do you usually interact with them other than giving them gifts and writing them letters?
Talking, they can also ping you with things like a thought bubble if they want to move out/sell something to you/buy something from your inventory.

3. Do they become good friends with other villagers?
They have fights/conversations at times but I don't think they have friendship levels with each other, it's mostly based on personality

4. Have you ever had a villager who never had the thinking bubble that represents that they want to leave? For example, a villager who is completely satisfied with living on your island.
Yeah, the move-outs are very slightly weighted by friendship level but can still pick them. You can tell them not to leave and they won't leave, unlike previous installments.

5. Who is your favorite villager and why?
Chevre, she's just super cute and prob should be reclassified as Peppy so she can be different from Nan and I can have my peppy goat this is the end of my ted talk thanks

I think others have answered most of your questions as far as villager interactions. The animals are really cute and I think the game does a nice job of making you feel like part of a community and that these villagers care about you and the island. I don't want to give too much away, though, because part of the fun is discovering these things. :)

Some people feel the dialogue could be better, and sometimes does gets a little repetitive, but there's so much to do in the game that it isn't a huge deal for many. You should give the game a try if it seems to be your style!

Oh, and my favorite is Fauna. :) But I love Twiggy and Zucker and many others, too. I have more favorites than island space.

Yes. I got some great answers! Thank you all. <3

Yeah, I heard that the dialogue was repetitive, especially if your villagers are the same personality type (normal, peppy, etc.)

I am really excited to get the game, especially if there will added things to the game!
