Villager Running to His Hiding Spot During Hide and Seek

The title is a tad misleading, but while joining a game of hide and seek with someone on Club Tortimer, Elvis the lion ran to the tree in the background. Then he ran straight to the left. I barely caught him with a snapshot because I thought he was going to stay behind the tree in the background, but he moved. Is this a glitch? Anyway, check it out.

Here is Elvis running. While Tortimer was talking, Elvis ran to the tree behind Tortimer. He then left that tree and ran to the left as you can see in the picture below.

Here is where he hid. He was easy to find because I saw which direction he took.

You sure have found some weird discoveries. This is the first time I've ever seen this. My guess is that every four villagers you have to find walk around the forest to find a hiding spot while Tortimer was explaining the rules to you. I'm pretty sure Elvis was trying to hurry because Tortimer was done explaining the rules and the game was starting.

It is cool, because if it isn't a glitch, then it let's us know that the characters weren't just randomly placed in different parts, but that they chose where they wanted to hide.

That happened to my mum once - we were on the island with my aunt, and she saw Goldie running to hide in the background behind Tortimer, and because of that she found her straight away. Sadly, she didn't manage to get a screenshot though but I've never seen it happen myself!
