Villager Personalities?

How many villagers of one personality can you have? I can't seem to find a clear answer online. I thought the game tried to make sure you had 1 of every villager personality, but I have no Peppy, Cranky, or Smug villagers in my town. Instead I have two Uchi, Lazy, and Normal villagers.

What is the maximum number of one villager personality in your town? Can you theoretically have more than 3 villagers of one personality?

The most I've ever seen someone have is 3-4 of the same type. If you can invite them all, I'd imagine you COULD potentially have a village full of only a certain type.

I'm trying to get at least one of every type in my village, and since there's 8 in total, I'll have 2 repeats.

In my town I have peppy, lazy, cranky, normal, uchi, snooty and smug. Jock just moved out yesterday.

I'd love another snooty, cranky or lazy villager.

I'm pretty sure you CAN have all of one personality type. Would be pretty boring though IMO.

I have 5 crankies, so I don't think there'll be a limit until you reach 10 villagers.
