Villager moving in when space is full.. does it work..?

Hi!

Haven't been on here in so long omg... anyway. I have 10 villagers currently but I saw a thread who has a dreamie in boxes rn. Can I ask the villager in boxes to move in and it will work like a villager in a campsite, or will it only work if i have space? :/ Thanks!

You have to have an empty plot of land to adopt a villager in boxes on another island
