Villager meet and greet (this villager you've never met..)

Been looking on the forum for a place where people can visit other people's island just to meet and talk to a villager they have that they wanted to see in game, just to say hi. Is the airport section the place for that purpose among others? I don't know.

For example, only today I learned that one of the villagers I liked, Del, is actually a robot and that he got a cool shiny redesign in New Horizons, I've never seen him in game here, new leaf or even hhd. I also would like to meet Audie who I'm planning to have on my island one day but never seen her in game. And this one is funny but I believe I only saw marshal ever once maybe..

I understand that people might suggest against it for several reasons (inappropriate gifts, their villagers starting to talk about this "stranger" they met more than once) but I thought I would bring it up.

Any villagers you wanted to meet but never did? I'm sorry if this seemed like a silly topic but there you go~

I kinda wanna meet Judy. Just to see what her colors look like on my Switch screen, lol. Or Marshal, for that matter, as I'm starting to warm up to him as a potential replacement for Lionel, but sometimes the feel is different between their pictures and when you actually have them. (It also may not be worth the effort for me getting him or trying to buy him from someone, haha - I'm not the kind of person to grind for something like that.) I also wanna meet Rodney again - I've seen him once briefly in a friend's campsite, but I wanna get a better look at him to see if I could stand having him again. He was chill in NL.

I've never had Rod. He looks like a cool pirate boi and I wanna see him.

That's really cool about Del! Would've never guessed based on his NL appearance. He actually seems to be more of a sentient ship than a plain robot though, what with the square "windows" on his face and his house. Very unique design.

I love the idea of a character meet and greet. There are so many that I've never seen in-game. No matter how many pictures I see, it is always a bit different seeing them on your own screen. That's how I got some of my current villagers. Because I ran into them on a Nook Island tour and actually liked them.

Can you give gifts to other people's villagers when it isn't their birthday? I've never noticed an option when I go to visit my friend's towns. It could be that I'm just unobservant though.

I think that's a great idea, I wouldn't mind hosting one! There's a lot of villagers I'd like to meet, but I don't have room on my island.

this sounds like a really fun idea!! I really do feel like seeing the villager in game makes a huge difference because I feel like this game has made so many of them so much cuter or unique thru their textures? I had big top on my island for a while and it was so neat seeing his helmet be a different texture than the rest of him!

tho on the opposite end Im currently holding Raymond on my island for my partner and seeing him in game has completely eliminated my interest in him LOL Id love to hold a meet n greet for him and see if anyone else feels the same haha

this sounds like a super fun idea!! especially since imo some villagers i’ve seen just seem to look a lot cuter to me in this game than before due to their new outfits and models and such—i love fuchsia now but never liked her design before, for example! i can’t think of any off the top of my head but i’m sure i’d love to see pretty much any villager in-game that i haven’t yet! especially ones among my favorite species like rabbits, squirrels, or sheep.
i would like to mention though that in this game villagers will now talk about your visitors even if you fenced them into the airport entrance, which is stupid tbh but means that “ugh if people talk to my villagers they’ll talk about the visitor” is technically no longer a concern but not in the way any of us wanted lol

There were definitely a few villagers I didn’t like from looking at pictures of them online, but I warmed up to them pretty quickly once I saw them in person.

I love this idea! I cycle a LOT though, so my lineup gets inconsistent at times ^^;; but I'd still love to host!

I've got a Raymond, a Sherb, and a Dom right now
though i might be kicking Dom soon bc I loaded in Bam's amiibo and I LOVE his colors

I like this idea! Villagers talk about visitors regardless of whether they spoke to them, so that wouldn't be a problem. And visitors can't give gifts to villagers if it's not their birthday. I honestly believe that seeing a dreamy in person can really help you decide if you truly want them. I've had several former dreamies that I've run into on mystery islands where I was like "eh, I'll keep looking"

I love this idea, though I feel like it might be easiest to organize a thread where people can opt in and list their available villagers, rather than trying to set up one huge event. Even just scrolling through the posts here now, I have a few villagers some of y'all have mentioned, and was about to be like "oh I'll open and invite people over" before I realized the servers are down at the moment. D'oh.

I think this is a great idea too! Seeing a villager on the computer vs in the game and on your island are very different things. It's one of the reasons why I ended up letting go the rarest villager on my past villager list... they just didn't fit despite how cute they were

This is a pretty cute idea! There's a lot of villagers I'd love to meet that I probably won't have on my island (like Raymond, Judy, Marshal, Rosie, Lucky, Beau, literally any wolf).

I also have Del and Audie if you'd like to come and meet them.

I love this idea! I really liked getting signatures sometimes or visiting dream addresses just to meet villagers. Also Del is inspired by a Japanese ship

I'd be up for it! It sounds cute and I would totally be fine with people talking to my villagers imo. I don't really mind if they do talk about someone who visited.

i love this idea! ive discovered a lot of all time favorite villagers just by meeting them on other peoples islands/towns!

and tbh, they talk about visitors whether the visitors actually speak to them or not in NH. the only way to avoid dialogue about random ppl is to have no random ppl come thru your airport. so i dont mind when people talk to my villagers

I love this idea! I'm the type that likes to see and talk to a villager in-game if I'm on the fence about them. I posted a request in the The Airport subforum and someone was willing to host me to visit a villager I recently added to my island.

I'd love to do this just so I can talk to all the past villagers I've ever had in an Animal Crossing game again. I miss them, and I want to see them in their HD glory.

I think I'm one of the few who doesn't mind their villagers talking about visitors, so once I have my 10th plot down and I no longer have to fear villagers from the void, I'd also be happy to host others whenever since I have some popular villagers, and I can hype up the less popular ones. : P
