Villager keeps talking about the "bugs in the floor"

Egbert always offers me DIY recipes and then says "The bugs in the floor must've whispered it to me in my sleep last night".
He also constantly talks about falling asleep under the bed and there being bugs whispering to him - is this some sort of joke I'm not getting?

it's just what lazies do now lol, tbh i don't like it much?? sometimes it's kinda funny but in general i find it kinda gross and lazies are still my fave of the personalities but i wish they talked about bugs a lot less ajkfhsfdgkj in new leaf i used to be like "punchy and i would be best friends!!" and now i go "punchy i love you but i would never visit your apparently bug-infested house irl"

YES every time i talk to ozzie in his house, there's always a bug mention and it's always kinda weird!!!!!! it's definitely the new lazy thing.
