We all know that villager's actions have been 'improved' in New Leaf, and they can do more things that just water your flowers.

Today I saw Peanut shaking one of my town's trees. Nothing fell. No items, no bells and of course, no beehives and bees.

And I remember that Ozzie is a gardener-ish villager, because he doesn't only water flowers. He plants flowers too.

Some villagers even go 'fishing' (they don't catch a single fish :V).

Have you seen any of your villagers doing things like that?

Yes, the villagers are more active. Though their dialogue is still lacking but a definite improvement from CF.

I have hopes that the next installment will be better in every possible category (not just villagers)

I also love seeing some of my old villagers (who have already moved out) in Main St.

Sometimes....one of them will randomly step into my house while I'm inside and sometimes...I find one of them swimming out.

Okay, they don't actually do that but I do think it's a logical step up despite the watering down/repetition of some of their dialogues.

They do basically what you do. So if they see you watering flowers more often then they'll be watering flowers with you. I find my villagers are always gardening in the morning with me and fishing at the river at night.

I never actually saw a villager plant a flower in CF, not sure if they did it on screen? Either way, it's so cool to see them plop down a flower here and there :) Also, I think they have their own pre-determined hobbies now? Not just something randomly generated that would change. At least Annalise has told me two times about her shell collection and how it needs more work. I should send her some pretty shells. She's also into weeding, apparently. Hopefully she'll give me a hand with those.

THEY CAN SWIM?!?!?!?!???????

Oh... ok you got me. :(

On subject... I am pleased as peaches whenever I see a villager water a flower. :p

I've seen them water flowers and plant them, go fishing, and shake trees. It would be cool if stuff fell from three trees or they catch bugs/fish sometimes. I also like that they go in stores and the museum. I found three of my villagers at the museum today!

Yup, all day er? day,
They plant WAAAY too many flowers, I have my flowers set up so that I can get a lot of hybrids, and throughout the day villager keeps messing with them, planting flowers in between the flowers that I set up, it?s nice, but it can be a real pain too.

I had two of them sitting together on one of my park benches. It was so cool!

I love the villagers and how they are programmed to do typical things, but I do wish that they get more. For example, I wish they would at least eventually upgrade their house (even if it's just one upgrade) if they've been there for awhile. Sometimes I feel so bad for them because they have a bath tub and toilet right next to where they sleep...I know they are animals but still!

I also wish they did more when they come over. Like sit on your chairs and what not. It would be really cool if they were more interactive.

It would be nice if they actually caught fish/bugs. It would make the town seem more lively. It's a bit disappointing to spend hours playing each day and the most I see them do is walk around town, switch their tools back and forth, and with the net out they never even attempt to catch anything - they just walk around with it.

I think how interactive they are is grossly exaggerated to be quite honest. Now, I never had prior experience in this franchise as New Leaf is the first Animal Crossing I've ever played so I can't say, "Oh they improved this or that from the older games at least!" since I'm looking at the game from a fresh point of view. They came up short in a lot of design aspects of this game.

Hopefully the next Animal Crossing has far more depth than this one especially since it will most likely be on Wii U where they honestly have no excuse to skip out on many details.

I love the gardening part of it. It's nice that my flowers are all sparkly without me having to do anything since there are too many to water on my own, and it's awesome that they just add to my hybrid breeding gardens so I don't have to get more flowers.

Maybe they can catch fish and bugs and shake stuff out of trees, though. Just because no one's seen it doesn't mean it isn't possible, especially since COMs usually suck at doing stuff.
