I don't really care for many gorilla villagers. I mean, I understand why they're not well liked, but I like Louie, Peewee, and even Jane (probably because she grew on me in the GCN game when she lived in Knothole)

But at least we have a peppy gorilla? Lol. That's all I can say about Rilla.

I think Nintendo should've kept Hello 'Kitty' as a cat :/ She would've looked super cute!
I understand that none of the other Sanrio villager are the same species as their counterparts, but they should've at least kept the main character/ mascot a cat TT^TT </3 A simple white cat wearing a red hair bow would've looked adorable

For me, it's not that she's a gorilla, much. I mean, I adore Violet and Hans. But I find Rilla kind of gross. I'm a fan of Hello Kitty and pastels, but they do not suit Rilla. She's too gaudy for me, and I had how pink her skin is. She's less fleshy, and more like a wad of gum to me.

I would have preferred if Rilla was a cat and the others also matched like Marty being a dog, toby being a frog, perhaps not so worried about the human one matching but still...it just seems odd to me that they didn't do that

I think she is cute, she is a a different version of cute, which is kind of refreshing. I love her furniture as well, I wonder what the exterior of her house would look like?

Perfectly stated. There was no reason to change the villager from what they were originally were as Sanrio characters.

Agreed. The only Sanrio villager that makes sense to me, is Etoile.
Idk what was going through the designers heads, lol. It doesn't make any sense

She's okay... And while it would be better that she should be a cat, it seems like Sanrio told Nintendo, "You can promote our characters, but you can't use the actual characters themselves". At least, that's the only reason I can think of as to why she or any of the Sanrio villagers aren't their original species.
