Villager Dilemma - somehow I ended up with 4 normals...

Hey everyone!! Sorry if there’s a lot of these threads... but I really need a bit of help!

I’ve reached a point in my game where I’m very happy with all the villagers I have on my island and like them a lot. I don’t want any of them to move really and would just prefer we had a handful more villager slots, but I find myself missing a couple things.

My current villager lineup is:
Snooty: Judy, Ankha
Jock: Genji
Lazy: Erik
Cranky: Dobie
Normal: Maple, Lily, Lolly, Fauna (ack!! So many)
Smug: Marshal

I have Judy, Lily, and Marshal’s portraits already, but I really like them and would prefer they stay on the island. I’m also not very confident I could get Judy again if she left, so I would prefer she stay for sure. Ankha is my boyfriend’s favourite and he shares my island.

You might notice I have a lot of normal villagers and no peppy or uchi! I was actually hunting for a peppy villager (preferably Ruby) with my last available plot and stumbled across Lolly two tickets in... invited her (I have no self control) and I like her very much! She’s very expressive.

I’m also thinking about Stitches. I had him for a couple days because I moved him in to give to my friend, and he was really adorable and sweet!

I have Maple’s amiibo because she shares my mother’s birthday, so I could potentially move her out to experience other villagers and move her back in later. Not sure what to do about this!! The 4 normal villagers thing actually doesn’t bother me very much gameplay wise but I do wish I had a peppy again.

TL;DR, have 4 normals, one with amiibo. Like all villagers. Should I keep one plot free for non-permanent villagers just to try them out or leave it as is?

hm I'd get Maple out to get to know more villagers, you can always scan her in after all
i adore the normal villagers too but their conversations can be a bit boring sometimes, especially if you got a lot of them @_@

You could let Maple leave (pun not intended lol) and try to get some new faces in, since you can always scan her in again.

Alternatively, what are your feelings on Fauna? You mentioned what you liked about Lily, Lolly, and Maple. If you're not super attached to Fauna, you could let her go.

That's fair Like I said, it's something to think about if you really want to experience a sisterly and peppy somewhere along the line.

Ah! Audie appeared in my campsite today so I’m working on replacing Maple with her for the time being. I like Maple very much but I’ve been missing the peppy personality and can always move her in again later.

I would kick out Maple. You have one other bear cub on the island and you have her amiibo and could get her back, guaranteed, and it would only take a few days if you regretted it. Better than to kick out a villager you do not have a card for that would be very hard to obtain again. You can comfortably and safely meet new villagers without ever wondering if you'll ever meet Maple again!

If it’s not too much to ask, what about Fauna made you end up deciding to let her go? I haven’t really clicked with her yet but I’ve been thinking it’s because I haven’t had her for too long.

I just never liked her look / design.. I don't really know what it was but I never really enjoyed her at all.. She was friendly and sweet though..

I tried to give her away for free and there were no takers so I ended up voiding her..

If you can hold off, someone said dataminers found the Happy Home thing is coming and we might be able to place more plots. Don’t know if it’s true.
