Villager Bdays

so i wanted all my villagers to have March Bdays, if they had a Bday within the same week as mines, that was a bonus! so here we are in March and im curious bc i never fully got to celebrate villager bdays bc my town wasnt quite done, bht now that ive completed my town and everything their bdays are coming up..

can you get villagers bday gifts? if so, what do i get them? is there anything specific they want? how do i know? will they tell me like they do for Toy Day, and give hints?​

Yes, you can get them a birthday gift---one per playable character. c:

Villagers won't drop hints about what they want, unfortunately. :c I use Thonky to check the recommended gifts for my villagers so I can plan accordingly.

Unfortunately, villagers do not give you hints on what they want for their birthdays, you're stuck with looking at guides.

Yep, you can give the villagers birthday gifts. I like to use Thonky's recommended gifts guide, but sometimes I also go away from the guide and just give them something I think would nice in their house or for them to wear. They seem to appreciate it either way, but getting them a recommended gift will probably increase your friendship levels more.

When you go in their house on their birthday and talk to the villager, they will make some statement asking about a gift and allow you to respond and give them the present if you got one.

The first time I had a villager birthday come up I didn't know this so I had mailed Monty a shirt as his present. When I got to his house and he asked about a gift, I felt so bad that I gave him the only thing I had on me at the moment...a balloon dog lamp. Not his favorite type of item at all. Poor Monty. At least I learned from my mistake.
