Hello!

I urgently need cycle help! I tried a method where you go one year then save and quit, then another year, saving again, and then 5 days. No one is in boxes!! Is there anything I have done wrong? And can I go back to the present date (8th Aug 2020, going back to 3rd Aug 2018) Without loosing anyone?

Can anyone suggest a straight to boxes guaranteed method? I used to know one from here but I cannot find it :(

Sometimes villagers will let you know if someone is moving after talking to them. Not quite sure myself of the best method since I don't cycle.

You're not accomplishing anything travelling by years, the moving condition of villagers is one of the things that moves forward based on days played. The method that I've seen work is moving forward a day at a time, talking to your villagers until they either tell you someone is moving (you can now skip forward about ten days or ping the relevant villager to get the box day) or generic rumors (no one is moving, go forward another day).

- - - Post Merge - - -

Also traveling backwards in time is perfectly safe, it is not considered a day progression.

Ah, I was going back day at a time, and Becky went into boxes? How could that happen? :')

So I am going to TT her out in a little while, so just moving a day forward each time? :)

Did you make sure a villager was in boxes before you started cycling?
otherwise about your question: traveling forward will count as traveling forward the number of days between the last save and the new date you selected. Travelling backwards in time will always count the same as moving 1 day ahead. To be save start the game with a new character and check if someone is moving. If you don?t see anyone in boxes it should be safe to exit the game without saving and load it with your mayor, but make sure to check all houses first!
Here is my cycling tutorial and if you need anything else, just ask^^

Someone just moved in when I started to TT I was following this method like I mentioned of going years forward and 5 days to get someone in boxes each time. Once Becky has moved out I will have 8 villagers. Where should I go from here? 0-0

I only tested the method I used in my tutorial.
  • find a day someone is in boxes
  • move 1 year 5 days backwards
  • load and save
  • move 1 year forward - new plot
  • move 7 days forward - someone new is in boxes.
(this is the short version, please refer to the tutorial for the full one)

If you have someone in boxes (and not gone already) I suggest you move to my tutorial and go to the main cycling part. If your villager already moved out but you don?t have a new plot already, I suggest you tt about 3 days forward and start normal plot resetting with a new character. Once you got the new villager moved in I suggest you move to my tuturial and start from the beginning (it?s always usefull to read what you were supposed to prepare before the main part starts)

Oh right! Thank you! Becky is still in boxes, and I will go ahead and read your method!
