Upset with the new update?

The only thing I don't like (aside from the ugly banner lol) is that i was meticulously cataloging every item in-game and now there are a bunch of new ones not on my masterlist

I'd take an update to an already great game any day over a rushed, slopped together Animal Crossing game like City Folk.

I'd be more worried about the mobile game than I would be about them making an update for New Leaf, if you ask me.

Yeah, that banner. I updated one 3DSXL and one cartridge. I've had enough time to get over the new toy and gee whiz and I won't be doing that again. Storage: I would fill that up with cra...stuff that I won't use and may never see again. Just like I already do now. I already have too much to do trying to keep up with multiple towns and am not about to add to that load. The attraction of ACNL, for me, is its simplicity and casual pace. More is not always better. Nintendo's aim with this update is to create a demand for more and more Amiibos and cards to sell and whatever to pad their profits. No thanks. The first thing I saw yesterday was that hippie. I despised those SOBs in the '60s and I looked for a way to strangle that bas.... well...That's just my $.02.

I'm really happy with it!! I still play acnl regularly and this is a free update with a lot of new things, I'd much rather have acnl updates than a new game

i realy dont like the increased time someone need to move out. yeah u can kick someone but i will prefer the legit way

idk how you can really be "op" in an animal crossing game when youre not really vs anyone but your self control. you dont have to use these neat features. you can do stuff differently if you want. its an option, its not forcing you to kick someone out or whatever

i for one am very happy with this, i find it very charming and i think its a sign nintendo really cares to have made a free update instead of a whole new game. some kids cant afford a whole new game since games cost so much nowadays (i know id have trouble giving up so much for the game, and im certain the next ac will be on the switch, and so might as well add that to the price) i love this update and its helping solidify nintendo as one of my favorite companies

Do you have to update your game to continue playing it? I've been considering possibly picking it up again over the holidays but if the updates are as bad as it seems I might not...

As far as I know, you have to update the game to play any multiplayer, which kind of sucks for people who dislike the update.

I didn't think it was so bad, there are a few features I really, really like, but the banner is indeed very ugly and the increased move out time seems tedious. I think I may have said it in another thread but the increased move out time may seem better for people with all their dreamies, as it makes it easier to stop them from moving out.

If you want to do anything wifi related, then yes you do.

Would anyone report any downsides to updating?

I might get back into ACNL because of it! Some of new stuff looks very interesting!

Have heard some people say it's glitchy, I haven't experienced it. Also saw somebody who updated just couldn't use their game for some reason, it just stayed on the Nintendo logo.

Apart from that, can't think of any big problems, I don't like the cat machine placement as it won't really fit in with what I want to do with my town. Getting villagers and rare items is a lot easier, could be a good or bad point depending on how you look at it.

But we also get cool new villagers from the amiibo figures - Zelda and splatoon characters are quite awesome.
And loads of new items, its always fun to collect everything

Yes, I'm kinda upset with it because as much awesome it may look, it doesn't give you any choice. I'm not updating because I don't want, and this way I have all online options restricted  I would understand if not-updateds couldn't connect with updateds, but not even be able to connect between old ones? That's unfair. It's more or less the same as when Nintendo upgrades the firmware and you are forced to accept in order for all the options to be avalaible...

i meant it as in it's too easy and you don't have to go through all the labour of plot resetting
"OP" as in the function is over powered
