Upgrading Nooks Cranny

I spent 70,000 Bells there a couple days about and it didn’t upgrade. Any other ideas?

It won't upgrade until 28 days have passed in-game.

If I'm not mistaken:

At 28 days,there should be a mention that an upgrade is coming.
At 29 days, it will be closed for construction
At 30 days, there'll be a grand opening for the upgrade

ohhhhh. Earlier in my game I was losing my mind wondering why my nook's wouldn't upgrade. I thought the 70,000 bells thing was the trigger and I knew I had spent at least 2x that! Even though I eventually got the upgrade, this is good to know. I hadn't seen any definitive information online when I tried to look it up.
