unsure of who to move out

right now my friend has scanned anhka in and i might pick her up for my island, but not until i see how she looks in game first.

in the meantime i'm trying to decide who to move on from if i do decide i want her on my island. I narrowed it down to the 2 choices that are the most reasonable to me, the 2 villagers that have been on my island the longest, Scoot and Eugene.

Scoot was my starter jock, and he's the only starter still on the island. I had him in my NL town too and he was great, but in this game he's been even better. He looks great in this game and i really like the jock dialogue, and I feel like he's a big part of my island because he has been here since the very beginning, so it would be very hard to let him leave. On the other hand, he does have the basic starter house (doesn't really bother me that much, his actual house is kinda stupid), and i do want to have villagers i've never had before (in other AC games) to get a new experience.


Eugene was the first villager i adopted off the forum, someone was giving him away and i happily took him. he replaced my mandatory campsite smug pretty quickly so he's basically my starter smug, I've always felt like he was underrated and i really think he has a great design, and the smug dialogue is stupid funny in this game. having him, Kyle and Cyd kinda gives my island a band of sorts (I could easily see them starting up a garage band) and they really go well together. The problem is is that 2 of my friends who play also have Eugene now (koalapocalypse honestly) and it kinda throws me off seeing 2 other Eugenes, so i'm kinda losing interest in him.


what do you guys think? i'm here for suggestions.

i personally like eugene a lot better than scoot, but if you're getting bored of eugene you should let him go!

I think if you are getting bored of Eugene, then you should let him go. I also dislike it when I have the same villagers of my friends. Which is why I don't want to get Audie right now and why it annoys me just a little bit to see Marina and Sherb in my brother's and friend's islands.

I like Scoot’s design. I have never been a fan of Eugene so choosing between the two for me is an easy albeit biased decision. But, you mention you are tired of seeing Eugene and it’s most likely doubtful your friends with part with him for a while so maybe it’s just the most sensual thing to do, to let him leave?

Worst case scenario if you really miss him is that you could try convincing one of your friends to let you adopt him.

I think if you're not feeling interested in Eugene maybe it's time for him to move out. If you're genuinely really happy about Scoot being on your island, I don't think your decision will be too hard.

Scoot is an OG and pretty cute, and you've got some game history with him. Even if you like Eugene, I think it would be easier to part with him and you could always continue to get interactions with him while visiting your friends!

I think you should let Eugene go if you're losing interest in him. It's always nice to get new faces around your island and Scoot seems to be one of your sentimental favorites.
