Unsettling villagers

What villagers do you find unsettling? Not necessarily creepy or horror-themed, just with something "off" about them.

For me it's Coco. I love her for this but unfortunately I've never gotten around to having her in any of my towns.

Kiki used to be kind of unsettling in NL because of the way her eyes looked but they seem to have fixed that now.

What about you?

For me its chow and chester, the panda bear/cub. Something about their face just doesn't seem to feel right to me. I definitely don't think they were meant to be horror themed or creepy but their faces give off that vibe and I just think that a panda villager shouldn't look like them.

Coco does weird me out, too. Though she's grown on me a bit since I've seen the love for her on this forum. Also, Clay. Clay just looks so weird and (IMO) ugly. Yet I always seem to find him while island hopping and he's shown up at my campsite. He -might- be stalking me.

Also, Barold creeps me out SO much. No offense to those who like him, but he triggers a very real disgust reaction in me whenever I see him His face just feels very wrong to me.

And, I know she's got a bit of a cult following, but I've never been able to get on the Tabby bandwagon. Her face is just so bizarre to me. I had her in a previous game and really disliked her

I dont even know why, but for me it's Curlos. He's not a bad looking villager or anything either. There is just something about his eyes or facial expressions that creeps me out a little. I met him on a mystery island once and knew I'd never want him on my own island.

I find Chow kinda cute, but the face on Chester is admittedly bizarre. It almost looks like a frog face, yet he's a panda?
AT LEAST Pinky can satisfy for a cute panda fix!

UGH yes. I really dislike Chow. I kind of like Chester but he seems upset all the time.

I like Clay and Tabby, they're the kind of weird I like. Barold... not so much. He's some kind of weird blackface bear, I don't get it. I get the same reaction you described about Harry. Just... barf. Their kind of facial hair looks so out of place on villagers.

Barrold is not quite on, design-wise for me. I prefer the cubs to the bears, as a rule (the exception being Beardo), so it probably makes sense I wouldn't care for his looks as much as other people do.

Coco has struck me as odd since I first saw her. Yes, she's sweet, but I've read too many ghost stories where the face was just holes for the eyes and mouth. I had her last week in my campsite and turned right around when I saw her.

The last is Pietro. The sheep design is a bit weird to me, and I'm not fond of clowns, so he's another 'no'.

Again, I know people love all of these characters, and I'm sure some of my favorites would land on people's 'no way' list (Gruff, maybe?). That's one of the nice things about AC, that everyone can have their favorites.

Maybe Clay? His interior looks like he's submerged in the Earth. Also his photo is him standing bare-chested.

I like him though. He's on my sister's island and I keep making him scared or sad, lol. His scared face is so cute.

The only thing I can think of why it's there is whoever worked on the villager photos is sneaky or they personally worked on Clay and want everyone to see his full glory.

Coco is the ultimate unsettling villager. Those soulless eyes!!!! That being said, I kinda still like her, haha! I don't know if this counts but Barold gives me extremely bad vibes whenever I look at him. I'm sure he's very nice, but omg I see him and my fight or flight nearly engages!

OMG I just saw his photo. I love it Clay joins KK Slider in the ranks of naked AC characters.

My unsettling villager pick would be Beardo, especially Beardo in a crop top. Actually I think crop tops in general make any villager look unsettling.

Some villagers come to mind. These are just my opinions; we all (dis)like who we (dis)like.

Coco staring into the void makes me very uncomfortable. I thought it wouldn't be as unsettling once I met her in-game (my S/O invited her to his campsite via Amiibo), but nope, she still scared me.

Chadder triggers my trypophobia (fear of holes).

Beardo, Barold, and Limberg...just look creepy.

With Charlise, I just generally dislike the colour green, especially her particular shade of green.

Marcel and Pietro... mime and clown makeup terrifies me.

I thought Chester was supposed to be a mime, but nope, he's a panda.

Going to be a very unpopular opinion but Apples hands down creeps me out so badly, I found her on one of my villager hunts and I noped straight away. Megan also is kind of unsettling as well she looks like she’s just plotting my death

This one pains me to say it, but in NH? Ed.
He's my #1 smug in NL, but he looks like a Muppet now with the new felt-ish texture, on top of his right eye suddenly being added. He paid me a visit in my campsite and it wasn't meant to be in NH.
Not to mention his picture quote has been softened from 'Beauty is pain!' to 'Beauty is pretty!'

Other than that, I've never gotten the hype over Beau. I don't know if it's the shade of orange or his eyes, but...no.

I guess I just have weird tastes. Two of my favourite peppies are Tammi and Bella, who I notice get a lot of hate!

I'm pretty sure his photo is him "on display" as such. Just being a statue.
