I didn't either, and I've been through ALL the species (noting down favourites).
Rolf needs more love. I went to play animal crossing at my friend's house for memories and we talked about my old Wild World town which we both played on. We discussed our crazy 9 year old antics. Apparently she screamed when she saw Rolf in my town in Wild World! He's not very pretty, but I think he's so handsome!
Elmer was another old favourite for me. I <3 Elmer so much.
Carmen should really be more popular than she is. I'll never understand the lack of love for her.
Why the heck is Grizzly T5? He's a big as hell grizzly bear, but he's nothing short of a huge cuddlemuffin. And no one besides me and one other girl I saw on here once EVER talk about him! Sure, all of the big bears are really unpopular, but Grizzly has the very best design out of all of them and seems to be the most ignored. He really needs more love...

I agree with this so much! I have him right now and he's definitely one of the sweetest yet toughest of the crankies. I decided to keep him even though he has given me his picture because I just grew to love him.
I also didn't know a lot of the lower tier names until I got them for my town by either streetpass or villager plaza. I definitely didn't know that Shep existed until I got him or Roald.
For me it's Curlos the smug sheep, he isn't cool enough to be sought and he isn't ugly enough to hate so he's stuck in obscurity while nearly every giveaway thread for him ends in the void but he was alright. I didn't actually think much of him until I started writing short stories about voided villagers so at the end of the day it's more the idea of Curlos that I like rather than the villager but I did enjoy having him in my town.
I bring up Rory every time I see a hated villager thread, or just any thread he seems slightly relevant in. Ever have that one villager that starts an ugly shirt cult? Rory moved into a bad spot and in less than a week had over half my town wearing his periwinkle tee. I was going to void him since he was tier 5 and didn't expect to find anyone but in an unlikely coincidence I found someone asking for villagers for an all-lion town at the last minute and Rory was one of the three lions mentioned so Rory wound up in a place where he could go on being a conformist while I could never look at a periwinkle tee again without remembering what he did. Rory is still in my shops area, mocking me with his shirt but someday he will be gone...
The Curlos in my avatar wears the periwinkle tee (turned scarf for sheep villagers) due to him being the last victim of The Curse of the Periwinkle Tee, he changed right in front of my eyes after I failed to intercept the conversation in time.

I have never heard of Rory or Bud until I read some of these posts. I never see Greta. I tried so hard to adopt her. After a couple of months with no luck, a cute little mouse I had never heard of ended up in my campsite. It was Bettina. I decided to have her move in instead of Greta.
And it's so nice to see Grizzly get some attention for a change. He's lived in my Joy town for over two years. He's in my top three fave list, and I agree that his house is awesome.
