Typing in-game

I'm more comfortable using a USB keyboard to type. It's more quicker for me and I don't even have the Nintendo Switch online app so there's that.

I use my fingers for the in-game board. I just keep it short so I can keep an eye on the player; it takes up the screen.

I don't own one, xD
my only keyboard is wired and attached to my computer, i'm not sure where the usb port would plug in?

I could probably look into getting remote desktop set up though.

If you have a dock, it plugs right into it like a computer. If using handheld, you'd need an adapter.

I just use my phone. I’ve gotten better on the actual switch but I still prefer my phone.

You don't have to use the in game keyboard or the phone app, if you have a keyboard with a usb you can use that to. Not everyone is going to have a smart phone. It's sad that we just accept NIntendo's practices, but every other game I have played with online has made a keyboard or easy to use communication device built in the game.

Nintendo pretty much tells you to grab your phone and ring up your homies. (Splatoon/AC)

I just use chatspeak and type extremely informally because I don't have the time to be typing proper text to get my point across.

I only use the app but even that can get annoying because of the character limit.
When doing quick trades I usually just resort to doing a reaction as a greeting and thank you.

I don't really talk in trades I just say "hi", "tysm", or "bye".

I detest trying to type in the game so I mostly communicate with reactions like some kind of caveman.

people use the switch online app but i'm honestly too lazy to download it ;; i think using my fingers is fine since most trades don't have prolonged communication + you can use emotes!

I use my phone to type. I usually get in a state of panic while trading I even manage to screw up emotes, but the phone is familiar and comforting.

I suck at typing on my phone even, so I've considered setting up an andriod emulator on my pc just to type in animal crossing, lol.

haven't actually done it yet though. android emulators are super laggy.
I recommend using SwiftKey on your phone.
