Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is an upcoming game in the Metal Gear series to be released for the PSP in 2010, with Big Boss being the main character. The game was officially announced at Sony's E3 press conference on June 2, 2009.

The game will be set in 1974, ten years after the events of Snake Eater, four years after Portable Ops, and just two years after Les Enfants Terribles. The setting is Costa Rica and depicts the rise of Outer Heaven. An unknown military force has deployed weapons in the country, and has hired Big Boss' army, Militaires Sans Frontieres, to help them.

Metal Gear Solid: Rising is an upcoming game set in the Metal Gear series. Announced at E3 2009, the game will be released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC and will star Raiden. The series' former tagline, "Tactical Espionage Action", has been replaced with "Lightning Bolt Action", perhaps suggesting a loss of the stealth element, as well as a play on Raiden's name.

During the teaser, a baby can be heard crying in the background as the voice over says the game's title. At the end of the teaser, the words "Sneak In" are shown, a reference to both MGS4 promotional art which used the tag-line "Sneak Out" and the Xbox 360 advertisements that use "Jump In."

In the teaser, Raiden's eyes are brown rather than blue, his true eye color. The reason for this is unknown.
