Two copies of ACNL: how do you visit your 2nd town from your 1st town?

I'm pretty new to this so forgive the perhaps stupid question but?

if I got a 2nd copy of ACNL in order to try to TT/Cycle to get a few villagers I really want, if I GET one of those villagers, how will I get them from my 2nd town to my 1st town? I only have 1 ds, so how do you visit from your 1st town to your 2nd town to talk to the villager in boxes?? or is that not possible?

You have to have two consoles to do so unfortunately >:
If you have a friend who's willing to let you borrow their 3DS occasionally that would work.

I recently bought a 2DS just so I could have my two towns interact >__>
I really shouldn't be allowed to be allowed to be in charge of my own money ahah. Or be an adult in general.

I guess the other option is to have a friend "hold" the villager for me, but that's a lot of pressure on a friend to have to try to TT that villager out without loosing any of theirs, assuming they even have space.

Yeah, they could definitely hold villagers for you! c: And even if they don't want to for some reason there seem to be plenty of people on here willing to help people out with things like that（人?∀`*）

Even if they play ACNL as well you can still borrow their 3DSs! It won't interfere with their game or yours if you use your cartridge in their console then travel to your own town that way. The only problem might be getting them to actually stop playing the game long enough to let you use their 3DS ahah. But yeah it works just fine, I used to use my friend's 3DS to steal villagers from my second town before I got the 2DS :3

Definitely not - you can use as many different copies of the game as you like, it has no affect on any of the saves. Just pop your cartridge into your friend's 3DS and then visit back and forth!
