When I reset my town, I set the date back so I could TT day by day. I play in real time now, but if I really want a villager to move in I'll TT to plot reset.
Oh God, yes. I time travel constantly. XD When I get really into ACNL -- like REALLY into it -- I constantly want to do things... But the slow pace of the game makes it hard for me. So I TT a lot to make things move a little faster. I don't really see anything wrong with it -- everybody enjoys the game in their own way, you know? If time traveling is what makes the game fun for you, then time travel! Don't play the game how others want you to.
Personally I think I would get bored of the game faster if I time travel because I can finish everything faster. I really don't mind others doing it but it would destroy the whole gaming experience for me personally. Going with real time makes the game more charming to me, watching the slow but steady progress of my town gives me a more rewarding feel than just rushing through the game.
I usually do not time travel. Unless a new villager is moving in, a dreamie, that is. I cannot wait 2+ days for them to move in to my town, I'm too impatient!
Well, I do time travel to kick villagers out as well. I don't like having 10 villagers, since I can never know when I'll get my next dreamie. And I don't want to be full when that time comes.
I personally do not TT more than a few hours at a time (if I need a shop to be open or miss Katrina or Redd or something). I think the allure of the game is that it operates in real time.
But, when I was younger and played the original AC, I TT-ed all the time!
Oh yeah i do it all the time. mainly cuz social games to me are just kind of boring and bland. i grew up on rpgs and action and that sort of stuff. so when i can't like kill my enemies then it's just gonna be kind of boring for me.
tting helps alleviate that a little. although yes it's mostly to just have villagers move out or if there's an event near then i'll do that too.
I don't time travel in my main town. I feel that it ruins the game for me and I enjoy taking it slow. Also, it limits the time I spend on the game since there's only so much you can do in a day.
However, I tend to TT pretty often in my cycling town since it is a requirement, but that's pretty much just it.
I do it quite often. Never really used to bother. When I first started the game I wanted it all to be done and everything unlocked all in real time. Now that I've got everything unlocked (I did use tt to get Gracie to turn it, was taking ages) I tt most days. Can get through 2 or 2 days worth of in games days in one session. And I tt to cycle villagers out who I no longer want, I'm far too impatient to try and wait it out for them to ask to move naturally. I did time travel to complete my museum too, I realised I'd missed a couple of bugs, one from June and another from April. As I don't know if I'll still be in a position to play this game next year, I decided it's best not to wait it out and just get them now.
Plus I can only really get to play at funny hours, either quite late or early and there's never anything open half the time.
I go day-by-day in my main town to make big landscaping projects less achingly slow, but I play in real time in my second town which has a pretty unique charm to it.
No, I don't time travel purely because I don't want the game to get stale for me too quickly which it has in the past due to excessive time travelling. I've had my town for a while now ever since I decided to stop time travelling and I haven't really had the temptation to reset since. I think it was the fact I was earning stuff too quickly which is what encouraged me to reset a lot as I felt I had essentially completed the game.
