Can anyone here vouch for a good TT method they used to get villagers out while keeping dreamies in? Also is there a difference changing time ingame vs settings?
for the first one, the only way is to be super careful and check and make sure no dreamie pings.
as for the second question, I dont quite understand what youre asking. do you mean in the system settings of the 3ds versus the time settings in the game itself? bc in that case, there sort of is. changung the setting clock will still change your game clock by how long you changed the system clock, as in if its the 18th in your game and the 19th in your system settings if u change it to the 20th in your system settings your game time will go up 1 day to 19.
I think a lot of people would call my method unsafe but it works for me. I've gone through literally hundreds of pings before and never accidentally lost a dreamie.
For me, I TT 1 day at a time and talk to 2 villagers a few times to try to find out if anyone's moving. Once I find out someone's moving, if I don't want that villager to move, I say no and then TT 5 days forward *you can do more if you want a higher chance of someone wanting to move when you load up - I just don't want bed hair* (someone may or may not decide to move when you load this day -- if someone does decide to move this day, their move date would be 5 days from this day [let's call this day the "possible move date"]), and then backwards to the real date (this counts as 1 day -- if someone decided to move the load up before this, their move date would be 4 days from this day). Most of the time when I do that, there's someone that decides to move. There's a small chance nobody would decide to move. If that happens, I TT 1 day at a time from there until I find out someone moves. I try to not surpass the "possible move date". If you get close to passing it, be extra careful and talk to everyone a few times.
I change the in-game time when I do this because I personally find changing the system time is more time consuming o-o
Some of the differences in changing system clock vs in game clock is that if you change your system clock (iirc): the game won't read your game as TTing, your system will get a little confused in other applications, you have a little more freedom when you plot reset, and it's a little bit more difficult, I think. Someone correct me if I've gotten something wrong, as I don't usually use the system clock
