True Animal Crossing Fan?

does it really matter which games you started with/played/owned
as long as you play the games and enjoy them then your'e a "true fan".
even if you never played the first few games and only played NL your're a "true fan"

hell the only AC games I've played are WW and NL but I still consider myself to be a "true fan"
of the franchise.

I am a true AC fan, Iv'e played every version of the game. Ive basically beaten all the games (Fully upgraded building, landscaped everything, Have all my dreamies)
So yes I consider myself a true AC fan

I'd suggest changing your font color to something more readable.

Anyways, the term "true fan" leaves such a bad taste in my mouth since it was used to be such an obnoxious term for those high and mighty fans.
Like so long as you genuinely enjoy playing the game then you're a fan. You don't need to play all the games or have some 5+ year old history with it to consider yourself a "true fan". //shrugs
But I guess for the sake of answering the question, I'm a "true" fan of the ac games.

I don't think it matters how many games you've played, so long as you love the series. Even if ACNL is the first of the series you've played, you're a true fan if you love the game. Heck, anyone who likes the game enough to have an account here at BTB is probably a "true" fan. Myself, I've played all versions since the Gamecube version, but ACNL is the only one that I've found completely engaging. It's really just the best version with all wide variety of new features, so I would totally understand if someone did not like any of the previous games.

I do consider myself a true fan even though I play probably less than many people here. The thing is I always get back to it, and it's my favourite game of all times. I have wild world and new leaf, not the others because my parents never allowed us to buy games for the TV.

Like others I agree that knowing the characters or having some long history with the games doesn't make you a "true fan". For the sake of the arguement, i've been playing since the GC days but NL was the first I took any major interest in, go figure.

The Gamecube-version was my first Animal Crossing and I basically played it on and off uptil the release of New Leaf (i bought my 3DS XL just for this game). I've clocked 2000+ hours on New Leaf so far.

I suppose I consider myself a fan (not a fanboy, though *shivers*).
Oh, and I never played Wild World and Let's Go To The City/City Folk because they just didn't appeale to me.

Yes i'm a true fan!
I first got ACWW for DS when i was 9, i lost ACWW, but no matter because later around 11 years old i got the wii and straight away bought ACCF, then whilst playing ACCF, i rebought ACWW for ds lite, but i lost it again, then i bought ACWW again! And this copy i still own to this day, i still have ACCF too, and now i play ACNL - Also, i only bought the 3ds mainly for ACNL, and ACNL is the only game i have for my 3DS!!

I also know loooads of info about the game, the fish and bug names, all the furniture names wallpapers, characters, flowers, getting tools, the events etc. Differences between the different versions

When i was young i knew little about video games and my parents wouldn't buy me that sort of stuff, but if i was, i probably would've bought the gamecube and got that AC too

I have WW, LGTTC and NlL I play NL at least 6 hours a day so I am kind of an addict. I started playing WW at 5, LGTTC at 8 and NL at 10
