How do you feel about the transhumanism movement, human enhancement technologies and the possible ramifications of it? Do you think it's dangerous or beneficial? DNA modification? Indefinite lifespans? Human cloning? Robotic body parts? Cyborgs?

I think it's neat honestly. If you can enhance a species to gain on quality of life, I don't think there's any reason to not be happy with where it's going. Not keen on cloning or indefinite lifespans, but if there were some way to decrease the number of resources necessary to have life, than I wouldn't see it as a problem. Of course it all comes down to neurologically being able to simulate a mind in those cases.. it's really not the body that would suffer.

Neat psuedo science for Sci-fi stuff, but probably not the best in terms of ethical progression.

i love dna modification so much, its one of my fave topics ever and i hope people keep advancing it

I can't wait for the day where I become a living war machine.

I will use my robot hand for evil.

Unfortunately, autism, Schizophrenia, Blindness, Deafness, etc. are included under "disease". Okay, maybe not blindness and deafness, but a lot of people want to eradicate them through genetic means because then they wouldn't have to live such a terrible life. The only reason why these minorities have such a terrible life is because society is the problem. Not them. So why are you trying to eradicate them instead of fixing society?

We shouldn't give blind people new cyborg eyes because society isn't that good, therefore they're not allowed the ability to look at things?

Not having the things you mentioned isn't really anything to do with society. Being able to get rid of them through machine gun arms and robot death feet would improve the quality of life. That's why they're often called 'illnesses', because they're things people would usually rather not have for their own benefit, not societies.

You're twisting my words. I'm not against minorities improving their OWN lives through any sort of means. It's their choice. And if they choose cyborg eyes or robotic limbs to enhance their abilities, then of course they should be allowed to. That's friggin awesome.

What I was saying is that I'm against the idea that we should forcefully cut them out of the non-existence through DNA modification (since it can be achieved through genetic means though to be frank, blind/deaf people will still exist because of other non-genetic reasons). It has nothing to deal with turning yourself into a robot.

I love the ideas of Trans and post humanism. I think it could be very beneficial in the right hands as always.

It sounds like a good idea and would be very beneficial to those who need that kind of thing, but surely it could be used by people to make themselves more powerful ? Or politically, it could be very dangerous as there is a lot of tension between countries like Russia, US, North Korea etc.
Could it easily be used in warfare as it could in enhancing peoples lives ?
