I'm planning on getting another copy of the game, since my character isn't the mayor, since I unfortunately wasn't the one to play first... I've already got all but 3 of my dreamies though, and I'd REALLY like to move them over when I create my own town.

How can I get them to all move out quickly, HOPEFULLY in under a few hours??? >_<

And move out the villagers I'll start off with?

You can always start a new town..?? ? And make your character the mayor..Even if your ex played your game first o.o

Yes! That's the plan. I'm gonna buy a new cartridge and since my character is secondary, I'ma move her over (since you can move secondary) to the new town! :] BUT, I'd like to have my dreamies again, soooo, I'm gonna try to move them over too by time traveling but I'd like tips and all that. :P

I'm not sure if that makes sense, I suck at wording things.

Find someone to hold them for you. You get them into boxes, invite the holder over, and bam. You're villagers aren't gone, and when you have room, you tell the holder to TT them into boxes, thus bringing them back to your town.

Ok. I understand what you're asking :) once you get your new town and move your character over to be mayor, go to your other town with the current mayor and talk to all of your villagers. Then go in and change your d's clock to a month ahead and open the game with a new character. Once you get to town, check and see who has left. Reset. Change your time back to the right month and go back one day and talk to the villager that was missing. They should ping you to leave. If it's one of your dreamies them your good. Btw, make sure you have the beautiful town ordinance going first. Hope that helps!

You could always use the 2 year 5 day method to get your villagers to leave. First, you get a villager in boxes. TT a year ahead. Save and quit. TT a year ahead. Save and quit. TT 5 days ahead. Another villager will be in boxes. Rinse and repeat

Wouldn't, within that time period, all the villagers be different..? Since it's a game that works with real clocks, wouldn't they already be moved out if they end up doing that?? o.O Or am I misunderstanding??

No. There will never be more than one villager thinking of moving at a time, and movers can only be generated on days you actually load up the game. So if you TT a large chunk of time (or just don't play for a long time) you'll only lose one villager at most, and only if that villager was already thinking of moving the last time you played.

I haven't read too much into the 2 years 5 days method, but apparently it guarantees a villager will be in boxes every third time you load the game, and you won't lose anyone. It's supposed to be the most efficient way to cycle if you don't plan on keeping anyone, since you can't control who'll be in boxes.

Oh, jeez, that's pretty cool, then. I'll have to look into that, since, as you said, it seems to be the most efficient.

Hello, SpectralCat!

I wouldn't be on a few hours.

I'd anticipate that it may take at least two days.

I'm going to be resetting my second town, Progress, after I have transferred my villagers to a brand-new town.

One method can be to "move" a secondary [human] from Town #01 to Town #02. That would be promoting that human to become the new Mayor.

I personally won't do this because I have to shop for a map that I will like to have before committing to the new town and, of course, transferring the Progress villagers.

I hope this helps you.

Good luck!

No, actually. It works very well. As long as you start on a day a villager is in boxes, they won't leave while TTing.

Yes, please start with a villager in boxes or you might lose someone you like!

As long as you start with someone already in boxes, it works. That's how I run my cycling town. When I mess up by forgetting to change the month in addition to the day, I lose a villager with no warning, and then I have to tt day by day to get someone else in boxes.
