when trading a large amount of bells what is the best way to do it?
Would you just go store them in your ATM and resume picking up bags or?

You're fine~
The best way to do it is make sure your pockets are empty, and fill them completely with bells. Then spill them on the ground, and the other person would pick them up. The easiest way to put them in/out of the ATM is just to hit 999999 repeatedly until it fills up. Then it should be good to go!

It also definitely helps to have an ATM in one's own home, which is only obtained after saving a LOT of bells. Then have a clear space in front of your house so you can drop everything ou ob

As above, although I usually fill up my locker with bags of 99k bells as that allows me to do things fairly quickly if there's not a cashpoint nearby! :D

thank you! btw if I am the one receiving the bells in a different town, would i just pick up bags and take them to the ATM? The ATMs are connected right? (you don't have to return to your town, drop them, and come back)

The best way is to have 2 houses with ABDs in them next to each other, that way one player can go to the ABD in one house and drop bells and the other can deposit those bells in the other house's ABD.

One of the new Welcome Amiibo Cards has the ABM that you can purchase with 3 meow coupons.
I fill my pocket up and drop them at the train station. Keep dropping them until the station is full.
Than my other player or a visitor picks them up. Make sure to do a save/continue just in case Resetti shows up.

You can also put do the retail thing. Place flowers for sale at 999K in all the slots or as many as you need.
Get the person or your other player to buy them. The money will be in your account the next day.

i think the fastest system is to have an abd in a house by retail and then do the retail method as stitchmaker described. this both less collective work, faster than running to the post office and easier to keep track of how many millions have been transferred, as you can just count the number of blank spaces in your retail to know. but definitrly save half way through at least.

good luck and happy transferring !

Specifically, Gonzo

And it's probably easier if to do it when the train station don't have paths around as well as the mayor houses, if you have the ABD there. When accessing the inventory menu, just lead the bell bags to the character's picture (slightly below it) like as if you're swiping real fast lol instead of just tapping the item and choosing the option to drop. It's way much faster.
