Trading villagers for bells?

I would only pay for my absolute dreamy (Agent S), if she was being sold and I couldnt find anyone giving her away for free.

When villagers move out of my town I?m gonna give them away :)
probably on the villager give away thread,

selling them for bells is a bit greedy
what are you going to do with like 50 milllion bells anyway?? besides getting the gold saver badge/

It's not really greedy.. it's their villager .__.
Some people actually do use the bells, for buying other villagers, buying rare items, etc.

I'm auctoning Lucky, the mummy dog villager. Some may think im greedy, but business is business, and if someone wants a villager, why not try to get them?

I find nothing wrong with selling villagers, but I prefer giveaways because not everyone has 50 million and I know how intense a lot of people are about getting their dream villagers.

If I needed extra money though (like maybe when I create a new character) I might auction a villager away if I had any popular ones. It's just a game, anyway.

50 million bells is an extreme amount but they are providing a villager that person obviously really wants and are extremely hard to find so I don't think it's greedy.
If you don't want to pay that amount you have to be patient or lucky, I got bob for free.

its dumb to fight over it
wow
i see people compare it so slavery and im like youre comparing a video game to slavery
come on
theres nothing wrong with it jfc ??

I'm just wondering about the likelihood of being scammed by trying to buy off someones villager...

It really is all you and your reaction. Reddit has a thread saying to let someone adopt the villager out first and you follow them every step of the way; if they go anywhere near the locker area or if they lay any less than the amount agreed to you can flick the wifi switch. But it's still risky. I sold stuff for a 6mill some total and that was already a huge area of bags of money. I can't imagine 50million.

I think people who pay into the millions are a little nuts. I find it silly that it got to that extreme so fast. I giveaway my villagers. Maybe at some point I'll trade.

The two I got from other people... one was given to me (Marshal) and the other I paid only 100k bells for (Chief).

you think people are insane for paying virtual money for virtual things? really?

what else is there to do with bells exactly? I sold coco for 20 million, turned the bells around and bought two dream villagers. Bob and Savannah.

How is any of this extreme??? I think it would be extreme if people were paying real money but nothing we're dealing with is real.

Hm I don't really like the idea of buying / selling villagers, I think exchanging is better, cause not everyone is duping money and is a bellionaire, some ppl (like me) just earn the money and save it every day and I think it's just not fair to those, who play 'fair'.
Although, if I'll have to, I will pay for my dreamie, if the price is not too high - what else can I do? ;/

Oh trust me, people pay real money for a lot of virtual things...and I already know tons of MMORPGs at the top of my head (no not diablo; I am talking about games with USD black markets for in game stuff)

And damn I auctioned Coco off for 6.5mill and I thought that was already a lot.

i didn't dupe anything for bells, i made bells with the stalk market. Not a fan of duping and wouldn't assume many others on this site are either.

I was specifically talking about animal crossing. I'm well aware of how ridiculous some free to play games are, but developers have to get money somehow. Gold farmers however are another story.

As long as people are paying in game money for in game things, I can't see anything ridiculous or insane about it.

/edit

I'd just like to say that people should never buy or sell to someone they don't think they can trust. OR if they feel they don't trust someone, ask for them to comply with their end of the bargain first because you are afraid of their dishonesty. I was almost scammed but I was able to catch this person before I had put myself at risk.

As it happens, I just tried to "buy" my first (offered around 4mil worth) and they agreed and then disappeared, then came back today and auctioning them off again... I'm feeling pretty upset about it really, that it was agreed to but is being sold off again :'c i have to agree, I'll need to stick with giveaways in future because the auctioning stuff is all too high stakes etc,

99% of this site has an extreme distaste/disgust for duping.

On a side note I spent 11 mil for Whitney, and I honestly think I got a bargain. She's pretty much the most sought after villager in the game.

I have no problem dropping bells for villagers.

I can kind of understand why someone would just rather pay the bells though, if it's a really popular villager and a dream villager of yours, obviously you wouldn't want to pass up the opportunity. but again sometimes the prices do get ridiculous, because think about it; if you were patient you could just get your dreamie for free, or just do the villager/campsite resetting trick..

( i got all my dream villagers for free/thru trades wat uppp)
