toy day help !

so, new horizons is my first game to play in the animal crossing series, so ive never had a toy day

things im confused about:
- how are ornaments used?
- my villagers arent telling me what they want?
- will i be able to buy or craft all gifts?
- what does jingle bring to the island with him?

if someone could honestly just give me a run down of the event, thatd be much appreciated :3

Ornaments are used as materials to craft festive items. You get the recipes for these festive diy items from balloons.

Apparently, Toy Day in NH won't involve villagers asking for specific presents, but you'll still give them gifts.

As far as we know, Jingle will ask you to help deliver some presents, and depending on how many presents you deliver, he'll give you some items.

Hey! I can't answer every question since Toy Day hasn't happened yet and I believe it's locked until Christmas Day so nobody's been able to play yet. That being said:

1.) Ornaments are used to make DIYs! You'll need a few other items too (I haven't got them all but some DIYs need iron and others need wrapping paper) You'll find DIYs via balloons, with the exception being an ornament wreath that Isabelle gives you.

2.) I think that's normal! None of my villagers are telling me what they want either, so I'm assuming Toy Day will be different this year. Sort of like how Halloween was different in the game too - we didn't need to buy a bunch of masks prior to the day, we only really needed one costume and that was it.

3.) There are special seasonal toys that Nooks is selling and you'll be able to buy one of each but in order to get different colours of toys you'll have to trade with people/buy toys from their shops. Islands only get one colour variant of each toy.

4.) I'm not sure what Jingle will bring with him as the event hasn't being fully released yet!

Edit: Whoops, it seems I'm wrong about the event not being playable yet! I thought it was locked to the actual day but it seems I'm wrong. My apologies! I haven't personally played through Toy Day yet though so I'm unable to answer some of your questions.

As far as I've seen from people who managed to play the event by time traveling, yes. I don't want to spoil the event, but I've seen it on youtube.

- Villagers aren't giving hints about what they want in advance.

Due to how Nintendo has timelocked events, most people don't really know what the event is going to entail since you would need a hacked Switch in order to access it. Any guides that mention villagers asking for specific things are just parroting what happened in New Leaf. No one has reported villagers dropping hints about things in New Horizons. My villagers talk about Toy Day and about how they want a gift, but they don't give specific info.

Balloons arrives every 5 minutes from the west or the east side of the balloon, depending on your island. You'll have to shoot them down with a slingshot.

As far Toy Day, I have a found a guide and as non spoilers as possible, listen to Jingle on Christmas Eve. It's pretty much all you have to do.
