It surprised me the few times because I was like, "WHO ARE YOU" and during the bug-off, my island felt very dense and overpopulated.

Also I learned you can push them with ease anywhere as I took Bettina on a journey with me to my sketchy fish market. You can also whack them infinity times if you'd like to be a monster. They don't get enraged if you have some underlying toxic tendencies fixated on poor, innocent tourists. I'd like to push a couple of them to certain areas on my island; to take some screenshots where tourists would fall prey to.

I'm adoring the tourists! I think it was a really nice touch that you can design tourist outfits; I think that adds something to the experience. I'm enjoying changing the tourist outfits and taking pictures of the tourists!

At first, I didn't quite understand the point of the hotel, but once I started decorating the hotel, I got into a flow state and couldn't stop making changes to hotel rooms.

It's a cute idea, and I like having guests lol.

I like the idea of tourists. More villagers on my island, the better. Especially if they were my past campers and villagers. It gives the island more life and removes that feeling of isolation.

It makes the island feel more lively which I persoanlly love. I arranged my island in such a way that forces my villagers to walk around to get to nooks, ables, or the plaza. Ive always wanted my villagers to interact more with the decor I have so its nice to see the random tourists looking around and going places I dont always see critters. Ive actually met one tourist (PeeWee) who Im gonna go hunting for!

I spend time on the ac subreddits and have seen this odd back and forth of people pointing the finger at each other. I think its perfectly fine not to like this addition. New Horizons is much more focused on decorating than the previous Animal Crossing games, plenty of players enjoy it for that reason, and now after years there is this new feature that potentially alters the carefully decorated island youve made. When the game presents itself as a decor game, its gonna attract players who care about that.

As somebody who likes pretty much all of the villagers in some shape or form, I think it's cute! It makes my island feel a bit more alive and lived in seeing tourists chillin' and walking around, though I understand people wanting to limit how many tourists are active or have the option to disable it entirely.

I honestly like having more people on my island. As they say, the more the merrier.

I think it is a good idea b/c you get to actually see all the villagers even when you have the 10 villagers you like, so if I ever see a cool villager that I'm like "I wish this guy was on my island", then I can kick out one of my current villagers and go villager hunt for them :D

I am starting to appreciate the tourists lately. My island becomes bustling because of them. :D

I also see them using some of my island's facilities which is something I rarely notice on my own villagers.

Personally, I love the tourists. As others have said they make my island feel more alive. Also, I haven't seen all of the villagers in this game yet, so sometimes seeing the tourists gives me ideas for vacation homes in HHP. So when I visit the HHP archipelago, I'm keeping an eye out for certain villagers that I have seen as tourists on my island.

I wonder if it is possible for our own villagers to talk to the tourists?

I think I'll really like it but it would've been nice for the hotel to come at four stars rather than three, kind of like Kapp'n realizes how great your town is and talks the family into moving there rather than bringing them lock, stock, and barrel with him when he arrives. Plus, my current catalog after restarting is pretty limited. Right now I barely hit a three-star rating for the first time so my town is nowhere near visitor-ready. Maybe I can get around that in my mind by only decorating one or two rooms until I get things set up better.

Anyway, before I reset I was getting a kick out of them wandering around, especially all of them in the same one outfit I'd set on the mannequin. I set two but they all insisted on wearing the one.

For that last half. Sadly, no. The villagers would just greet each other and move on.

I don't mind the idea for tourists, for certain themes it's nice to see a busy Island.
I do know one of my theme islands I wanna do, a hotel is def not needed at all. I kinda wished I did that one before the update. Heck, my main island is suppose to be abandoned, maybe I can make them wear investigator gear?

Though I don't like meeting villagers I don't like suddenly appear on my island >.<
I do like the idea that for events, our islands will be more busy.

I like the tourists overall, but sometimes it feels like too much. At times they'll outnumber our own villagers (when it comes to who's outside walking around), since some of our villagers will be indoors at any given moment. And the tourists seem to exist indoors (at the hotel) and outdoors simultaneously.

i personally like it! my only issue with it is i have definitely noticed an increase in lag. i guess they didn't have the foresight to account for the game loading all these extra villagers? it's probably better on the switch 2, maybe they only playtested it on there lol. but it doesn't make the game unplayable so it's a minor gripe.

part of the reason this appeals to me is because, back in new leaf, i once decorated all my custom museum exhibits like they were hotel rooms. (now i use them for storing gifts from my villagers which is more fun for me.) and i would pretend all my old villagers visiting main street were staying at the "hotel." so it makes me happy to have an actual hotel with visitors feature in the game. and it even has some of your old villagers visit too!!

also, i just like having random animals show up. it feels more realistic in a way? like, i know this is an island, but pretty much every location is an island in this game, so it's still weird if literally no one from the outside world stops by for even a day trip, let alone an overnight stay, unless i personally invite them. and i think even if it's not designed this way, it gives an incentive to make your town/island (i still call islands towns. from old habits. they basically are towns anyway) more unique and worth visiting.

i currently have my tourist outfits set as winter coats and hats (and pants and boots but animals don't wear those) because i want to make sure they're bundled up...once springtime comes i can update them for the warmer weather and that'll be fun :).

I like having tourists, but having a ton of them at a time can feel slightly overwhelming.

I love that thought for the museum in NL, I always just stored extra junk in those rooms, like fossil models, spare fish and bugs in case villagers made a request, and a lot of event-holiday items. I also put coats and hats on the hotel models--they're really cute running around town in them.

But anyway, on point, is how so much of NH is built on the idea of making this attractive place, and for what? So this little dog comes every weekend and does a concert? I'm the kind of person in the real world who'd basically leave the island just as it is and have everyone living in tents or shanties, but that's not how it's designed. Since the hotel business came in I'm trying to really lean into it. I did two rooms before I thought about it (only two because my town is still under-developed so it seemed weird to have much more than that) and realized a perfect device in having the rooms 'sponsored' by the local businesses. Right now I'm schmoozing Brewster in order to get his cup and coffee (already have the cookie recipe) for room placement. (The hotel visitors DO go to the Roost for coffee.) Redd can help out with the artworks. Label can provide her branded clothing for the guests to wear. The Seaside room already has a gown and shoes from Pascal. Etc.

I don't know how I'll like when a lot of visitors are roaming the island but so far I'm enjoying getting to see villagers I've never had in the NH setting. Yesterday Pekoe was visiting. She's someone I've always wanted in my town then when I saw her for real I thought, 'oh, she's cute but she really isn't all that'.

Anyway, that's more than enough wall o'text so I'm stopping here.
