Tom Nook Appreciation Thread

Having Tom Nook be such a central part of this game (eg. morning announcements, running Resident Services which I visit many times a day) made me realize how little of a role he had in New Leaf, which in turn made me realize I actually really missed the guy! I like doing stuff to help him out, it just reminds me of the Animal Crossing I grew up with. I never got attached to Isabelle.

Did anyone else really miss Tom Nook and feel happy to have him in a more central role at the beginning of New Horizons?

TOM NOOK IS A GREAT LITTLE RACCOON MAN. DUDE DOESN'T CHARGE YOU RENT, INTEREST, OR EVEN TRY TO COLLECT YOUR DEBT IN A TIMELY MANNER. He just builds you a house.... there's even a throwaway line where he mentions how his accountant told him he can't keep building houses in exchange for Nook miles...

I've always liked Tom Nook in Animal Crossing, and I'm glad he has a bigger role now than New Leaf where he was only good for House upgrades.

yes!! as much as i love isabelle, tom nook has been there since day 1 when i was playing on game cube as a little kid lol. i'm glad that isabelle still has a role in the game since i would really miss her, but so happy that tom nook gets the spotlight again!

One thing I think is cute is how Tom Nook and Isabelle's themes are blended together in the town hall.. really glad to see they included both of them for NH!

I really like Tom Nook and I think he's very misunderstood. It makes sense that he should have a bigger role considering he's been a part of the series since the very beginning. It's also interesting seeing how he's changed from each passing game.

I like to rag on the guy, but I've always liked him. He mentioned in HHD that he donates all of his money, so it's not like he's Mr. Moneybags. Or if he is a Mr. Moneybags, he's a Bill Gates type. For those who don't know, Bill Gates is HUGE on philanthropy and donates so much money to various charities every year. He feels like one of the most generous rich people in the entire world (and I am being literal here, not sarcastic).

Glad Tom Nook is the face of the franchise again. He really is an iconic character and not that bad of a guy at all. After all, everything you pay for helps go to developing the island so your community can be better.

Ever since GameCube, I always picture Nook when I think about Animal Crossing. I'm so happy to have him in the main role again <3

I wish you had the option to choose who you want to announce your news! I love seeing Nook do it every morning

In the past few weeks I've become a huge Tom Nook fan, and now that I'm diving into his past more with WW, CF and NL, I like him even more. He has this super interesting backstory and there's so much from his past that we only get hints at. I like him best in NH, of course - he's so cheerful and supportive! And super cute, too - and I absolutely love how he always shoves his coffee into his pocket when you want to talk to him at the counter. lol

And I also miss him as the daily news announcer in NH. Isabelle is cool but I also wish we could choose whether we want Tom or Isabelle doing the announcements. I liked seeing him first whenever I switched on the game.
