i've had it since the 9th and i've done quite alot.

However, I only like 3 villagers. No one wants to move in...or out.

They have surrounded my house and its meh. And there is a freaking rock in front of my house that just burdens me with making it all pretty.

i've played 240hours.

I'm wanting to know from others who have re started how easy/hard it is to get back where you were at and should I restart? My main concern is getting all the bugs/fish/paintings back.

remember me, its matt from meldon. DONT RESET!

If you've done a lot, I probably wouldn't reset, but I reset my game yesterday when I'd gotten it on June 13th. I haven't gotten a new town yet, but when I have it I will be doing daily blogs. I probably wouldn't reset, though. It's up to you. :)

Resetting wasn't as bad for me (even with not being able to find someone to hold my belongings from my previous town). I feel like it's a lot easier when you have a buddy hold your bells, furniture, fruits, ect.. for you while you find a new town to settle in. I've gotten my town permit within 2 days & I did time travel ONLY to gain back the stores I've unlocked.

Good luck!

If you've gotten so far I wouldn't reset but its entirely up to you. I wanted to reset too but I don't really want to start from scratch I've just finished unlocking the cafe and kicks.
Good luck with whatever you decide

I am also wondering whether to reset. I want a Hunger Games themed town, and I'd really like it to be called District 12 but there's not enough room :( I have an awesome plan for a town but I don't wanna reset AGAIN! :S

I was a couple weeks into the game when I decided that I had to reset. I was in a similar spot; I didn't like most of my villagers and my house placement wasn't thought through as well as I'd hoped. I ended up resetting and getting a bit of TT'ing help to get past the tutorial section of the game. I don't regret it at all. I am much happier with the game and I feel like I can really enjoy it now.

^_^ So basically, if you're not happy with how it is now, you can try to tell yourself you like it, but odds are you'll stay a bit unhappy still. But that's just me!

I think you should be happy, but if it's only a few things that are bugging you... then isn't that the point of the game? Developing the town and improving it and working with what you've got instead of resetting because it's not 'perfect'?

I restarted the other day and so far I've had no issues going back. Started on the 9th, and am slowly TTing forward to the current date. It helps me to get stuff done faster since I can run my morning errands and then beetle hunt, plus I'm currently at the 19th of June and will have Kicks, T&T Mart, and the Dream Suite by the end of the week. If anything, it'll make you happy with your town again and give you a bit more progress than you had before. :)

If you have to even ask I say you should. I restarted so many times though lol but I'm satisfied!

You need to find a town where you won't have ''should I reset?'' thoughts.

It's not always black and white like that though. Initially with my town I loved it, then I thought "maybe I should reset..." but then those thoughts went away and I still love my town again. XD Glad I didn't reset despite the thoughts~

Personally, I wouldn't reset. I've had my town since June 13th, and I think it would just be a lot of work to go through all that stuff again. :/ But really, it's your choice!

I know the person at the start already made their decision, but I think this is a question a lot of people will have to mull over. The resetting issue is so troublesome. I have debated it myself, because there are a lot of pros and cons.

When you start your very first town, you're not sure what you can have, yet. Once you've played a bit, you KNOW what you can have. My sister's town has waterfalls facing forward rather than sideways, and I LOVE the way that looks...but both of mine face sideways. I got ALL UGLY VILLAGERS when I started. (Seriously, Cobb looks like a hunk of rotting meat. He's nice, but ew.)

After playing a while, I knew better where I really ought to have placed player houses, which I couldn't have known before playing. I also sold things I shouldn't have sold because I didn't realize how hard they were to come by. And I missed a few special opportunities (special visitors and so on) because I just wasn't fully aware of how my town worked, yet.

BUT...

I've put a lot of work into fixing the place up. I've got all of the shops unlocked except Katrina's (and the TIY and Emporium upgrades to Nookling's.) I've caught every fish, bug, and deep sea creature that is available to be caught in June or July (except the scorpion, ugh.) I've done about 20 public works. I have my house about 75% of the way to complete, renovation-wise.

That would be a LOT of work to redo. You can't get back the money you spent on your house, or on public works, so you have to earn all of that over again. You have to recatch every fish and bug/etc you had already caught. In short, it is a HUGE load of work to restart a town and get it back to a similar level of development.

If I had had a strong feeling of what needed to be changed only a few days or a week after first starting, I definitely would have reset. But at this point, I feel it is too late...it's not worth the many, many hours I'd have to spend just to get back to where I already was in my original village.

I think anyone who can find more pros than cons to resetting should do it ASAP...just make sure you realize how much you'll have to do again from scratch, even if you have a good friend who can hold your bells and possessions for you.

EDIT: I also really, really wish I had not chosen such a boring town name (Grove) and used my REAL name for my character. I want a more interesting name for the town and in retrospect I would prefer my nickname (Kikki) as my character's name. (My real name is too real-world sounding.) BUT...too much work to restart. I just can't face it, heh.

It's your decision, but if you really don't like much, I would reset. The sooner, the better. I unlocked a lot, and when I reset, I didn't regret much since there was hardly anything I liked about my town. I'm basically saying that you should really choose yourself, but if you really don't like the layout or the villagers, I would consider resetting, especially if you think that a rock ruins the prettiness of your house.
I wish you good luck with your decision! :)

Like everyone else said, it's ultimately your decision, but to be honest, I think you have a really nice map! If I had seen that as one of my choices, I would have chosen so quickly. But again, it's your choice. You can always TT from the day you got the game to the current day.

I'm surprised that I'm not the only one who has done this. When I reset my first town on like 6/30, I set my game's date to 6/9, the day I got the game and started my first town. Then I gradually TT'd to the current date, and made a lot more progress that I did on my previous town, because I didn't have to wait for the next day and all that jazz.

So TS, if you're not willing to lose your progress, and you're up to TT-ing, I'd reset and TT.

But if not, then just deal. I think your town's layout is quite nice, and you might not come across an as pleasant layout for a while. Then again maybe you're not picky like I am.

As for the villagers, just don't talk to them. At all, ever. They'll move away pretty quick. o 3o
