To Audie, or not to Audie?


I love that fox.
But as far as my knowledge goes there is no amiibo for her, since she's a new ACNH character.
So the only way to get her is in-game.

When you start your island you'll get 2 villagers. A male jock and a female unchi.
Afterwards you'll need to build 3 plots with outdoor furnifure. The 4th plot will always be for a peppy villager.
Chances of getting Audie this way : high probability.

But it comes at the price of her having a generic house.
Now I don't mind that house. But I'm also tempted to try my luck and find her on a deserted island through Nook Mile Tickets.
On the other hand, not getting her would seriously ruin my mood.....

What would you do? Giving her a generic house, or take the chance of missing out getting her as a resident?

If you kick one of those villagers in the starter houses out and then invite them back to your island, they will then have their original interior. You can get Audie now and then get someone to help you kick and invite her back for you.

if i were you, i'd get the 4th plot ready to be sold, and then immediately go looking for her on mystery islands! if you're able to get your hands on several NMTs that early in the game, that is.

that way, the probability of finding her is high like you said, and you'll also get the thrill of the hunt since you'll probably have to visit a few islands before you find her. if you don't mind the starting interior, i say go for it.

Definitely go for Audie. She is one of the best villagers I was lucky and got her on a mystery island as one of my first villagers. I must admit that her starter house is really beginning to annoy me. I have seen her proper house and I want it. Only difficulty is getting her to move in and out. If I did that it would mean starting again and we are best friends. Would be weird her not remembering me

She will still remember you if you invite the same Audie that you kicked out.

I definitely recommend Audie. She's a sweetheart. I always enjoyed finding villagers more on an NMT island as the thrill of finally finding that one dreamie feels fantastic. Going that route though can definitely be annoying with some bad RNG. If you end up going for the 4th plot preppy villager, definitely find someone trustworthy to switch out her starter house. Starter houses for a dreamie become a big bummer after a while imo

Definitely this. I have loved having Audie since the beginning. The generic house is actually quite sweet and it was worth it just to get her.

I didn’t want to lose her or get a “new” Audie but thanks to knowledge and help from @NefariousKing hopefully it is possible to have her go away for a little holiday while her home is refurbished

since you don’t mind the generic interior, i say go for it! trying to find her through island hopping would likely take a lot of time or you might never encounter her at all. that being said, i’ve seen a few people on here give her away for free so you could always keep an eye out for that c’:

The starter villagers are a special case though. Their interior will change to their original if adopted by someone else. You can then reinvite that same villager back to your island and they’ll retain the new interior they gain during their vacation. I’ve heard that they will still have the items you gifted them, if any, and their original interior will change a bit because of that.

I am not a big fan of Audie. (I got her twice from my island hopping sessions. I sold both off.)

However, that doesn't mean you shouldn't go for her. Considering that it took me a herculean effort to find Judy, she's definitely worth getting because of her rarity. You're going to thank your future self later!

I passed on her at the beginning and just managed to luck into her. I love her and her super tropical house. She brings a bit of a different vibe than my other peppies and I love it.

If you do decide to island hop for her, don't put down any plots for the starter three houses (or at least dont finish prepping them) until you find her. The first three villagers (peppy, normal, and lazy) will be the only personalities on the NMT islands until you fill them. That's how I island hopped for Sherb in the beginning when I reset my island back in early June.

Audie has one of my favorite houses in the game. I wish she wasn't a peppy villager because I sometimes find them annoying. Regardless, she was fun to have for a little while.

Audie’s house doesn’t have any pieces from the diner set aside from the sign but she does have some kitchen stuff

I’m also not a huge fan of Audie (primarily bc she works out so much) but I think you should go for it! It’s definitely easier when you go search for her in the beginning than later on in the game. There’s a lot of nice people here who would probably be able to help you get her original house if you’re not a fan of the starter peppy house (personally I think it’s fine!)

I agree, I’m also not a fan of the sign and the basic one does fit her pretty well!

It's less of a headache using the campsite trick, imo. That's how I got Raymond eventually--no NMT wasted. Get rid of every peppy villager and keep fast fowarding time until you get Audie to visit. Resetting your island and looking for all the right ingredients for your perfect island, on top of hoping Audie is one of your starter villagers is a nightmare, unless you don't care what kind of Island variety you're permanently stuck with.
