Tips on getting the Sloppy Set

Ive got Gaston and Marshal in my town and I've been trying for the past two weeks (it may not be long enough) to get them to submit their sloppy set furniture into retail and I've also been doing favors for them as well. I've been mailing them items to replace their furniture and also suggesting items when they say they're tired of their furniture. But when I complete their favors or help them replace their furniture, they're just returning or giving me the items I gave them in the beginning. It's starting to get frustrating and I was hoping some of you folks out there have some tips or ways you went through to get their furniture. Any feed back is appreciated. Thank you.

I get the sloppy and cardboard series to show up when Re-tail is completely empty the day before. Some of my villagers will sell sloppy and cardboard series even though they don't have those series to begin with. I received 3 sloppy furniture from Bruce and Bam. I also gotten 2 cardboard furniture from Erik and Lopez. All these items were found at Re-tail when Re-tail is empty.
