Tips on getting a Villagers picture?

I've been playing since february and haven't gotten any of my villagers pictures without aprils fools. I wouldn't want to tt back to april fools just to get it since someone might move out when tt'ing back to real time so I decided to do it the hard way. I also have a few questions about it:

-does the villager type depend on how long it takes to get their picture?
-does rejecting their requests make you go lower on the friendship ladder?

I think there's a guide somewhere about how to get them. I think I saved it.
A lot of mine came from high friendship, thanks for birthday gifts, and giving perfect fruit when they requested just fruit in general.
The pictures I've gotten are from peppies, normals, and lazies.

I think some personality types give their picture a bit faster and more frequently than others.I seem to get more pics from smugs and crankies and it seems to take a little longer to get pics from my lazies and normals.I played for three and a half months before I got my first pic but after that it was like the dam burst.I have about forty pics now.I try to talk to my villagers at least once a day,give them perfect fruit and send the occasional letter with a gift attached....nothing really special.I recommend giving perfect fruit that's not native to your town.I've received quite a few pics just from doing that.And on my villager's birthdays I consult Thonky's villager birthday guide.I've also received pics from giving the right birthday gift.

Just be friend with them and love them true. If you need to ask how, then you're not they're friend and just doing it for a picture. Thank you for letting me know you are not a good friend.

They are my dream villagers and villagers that are staying in my town so I'm not just doing it for the picture

Wow,that statement is rather judgmental and harsh.Some people just want advice on how to get pics and if that's all they're after it's their business.Let people play the game the way they want to.

I got Marcie's from high friendship. Just talking to her a bunch. I'd had her since I first created my town, so it took a really long while. She gave it to me the day before she moved away. Kinda bittersweet.

Same with Rowan. He was the first I got and it had to be when he left me, lol. I was heartbroken and happy.

Rejecting is better than saying yes and not doing it.

When they ask for fruit, get perfect fruit; when they ask for fish, get a whale shark; when they ask for any butterfly, get a birdwing.

As for if this has actually worked, I've gotten several pics, sometimes within the same week by the same villager. For instance, Pippy gave me three within two weeks.

If villager type has anything to do with the likelihood of getting a pic, I suspect cranky, as my only cranky, Hamphrey, has only given me one pic though I lavish him with more attention than usual. And lazy seems easiest, as Beau gave me three (including with the farewell letter) though he only stayed in my town for about two to three weeks, and Erik lavished me with pics within the first few weeks being in my town.

I'm pretty sure if a villager asks for something more rare and you get it for them you have a higher chance of getting their picture, so maybe try that.

If memory serves, it's also an indicator of high friendship, like when they have a pleasant look on their face when you sit on the bench next to them.

How I normally get a pic is wait for them to give me a request, requests are good for pics. However you must have a high enough friendship with the villager to receive a pic as you know. A good way of making them ping is loading up the game, ran past any villager till one pings, if not the right ping save and quit the game and do the same thing over again. Once you get a good request, such as perfect fruit, signatures, get a rare bug or fish, or my favorite delivering them a present. Once I get a request, save the game. Once you got the thing you need for that request, save the game. Then find the villager and give them whatever they needed and if its not the pic they hand you quit the game without saving. Don't worry it won't harm your game, its just Resetti might get a little mad... Just keep repeat this, giving them what they want till they give you the pic, it normally takes 5 - 20 times for me till they hand it over~ Hope that helps.

Really? I had no idea. So I guess that would mean you do have a higher chance of getting their picture, if it means your friendship with them is high.

It goes the same for the megaphone, if you call a villager's name and they smile and wave back at you, you have a good - high friendship.

Yeah, though I am guessing they still get mad if you call out with the megaphone right next to their ear, heh.

i get them signatures whenever i can (seems to work well with normal villagers) or do any other tasks for them :3

I've gotten 2 of mine (Ankha & Erik) through doing requests for them (or another villager, returning something of theirs) and Tammy's after giving her a gift she really liked on her birthday, as a present in the mail.

I don't get pictures from Cranky or Smugs x) Guess it depends!
