Tips on getting a Villagers picture?

How I normally get a pic is wait for them to give me a request, requests are good for pics. However you must have a high enough friendship with the villager to receive a pic as you know. A good way of making them ping is loading up the game, ran past any villager till one pings, if not the right ping save and quit the game and do the same thing over again. Once you get a good request, such as perfect fruit, signatures, get a rare bug or fish, or my favorite delivering them a present. Once I get a request, save the game. Once you got the thing you need for that request, save the game. Then find the villager and give them whatever they needed and if its not the pic they hand you quit the game without saving. Don't worry it won't harm your game, its just Resetti might get a little mad... Just keep repeat this, giving them what they want till they give you the pic, it normally takes 5 - 20 times for me till they hand it over~ Hope that helps.

If they turn and look at you when you sit next to them on the bench or visit you uninvited, you are close to getting their pic.

Save the game before you fulfill their request. If they give you a T&T spotlight item like rococo furniture or a number lamp, you have a shot at a pic by closing without saving and giving it to them again.

I got a picture from Merengue, then literally the very next day I got another one. She's one of the villagers I talk to the most because I love her so much so I make sure to help her whenever I can. I can't remember what I helped her with, but I usually only help my villagers if it's something easy, such as getting them fruits that are available in my town or delivering presents, so I must have done either one of those.

Just wanted to add a tip that might prevent frustration:
Don't force it.

Essentially, don't anticipate that every time you talk to them will be the time that you get their picture. Keep tabs on their friendship levels, talk and do favours as often as possible, but don't feel like it's GOING to happen.

It will happen, but it always seemed less stressful to me when I wasn't actively hoping for the picture.

I also beleive it is high friendship. Four of my villagers have given me yet another picture of themselves and always for fufilling a request for them. I try to do just about all my villagers ask of me. I sit with them, collect fish and bugs for them. Signatures, what ever they need. It seems to pay off

Idk if anyone's said this yet, but if you wait until April 1st (or TT), for the April Fool's event, Blanca will come to your town and impersonate your villagers. If you guess which one is the real one, they give you their picture. (There are guides online too, if you want to make double-sure you get them right.) I got all my villagers' pictures in like half an hour. It's the fastest way for sure, as long as you don't mind TT-ing, or waiting that long.
