Tips for getting back into AC:NL?

Personally, one of my favourite things to do in the game is designing rooms so whenever I get a new idea of what to do for a room, I play it and worked on it. Once I get started on one room, I need to redesign the others one so that's how I start playing the game again. That and I need to check on my villagers and make sure no one has moved out lol

Just jump right back in. It helps if you have a cool idea to try out in your town though. It gives something to work toward to.

Take a break. Sometimes that's all you really need. Your town isn't going anywhere. :)

Though I find that setting goals for yourself definitely helps. For me, it's a never ending uphill climb for the very subjective 'perfect town'. I'm constantly redecorating/arranging, especially as I slowly pickup more PWPs. When I'm not doing that, I slowly grind towards badges.

I've never looked into room designing too much, I'll give it a try :D

I feel for you.

I had burnout the past few weeks.

I wrote down the last time I played, date and time. Then I just didn't open my town until I felt the inspiration.

Inspiration happened today. It's best not to play when it feels like a chore. I know that feeling all too well.

Also - find a villager that you e never had before but have always wanted to have in your town. Wanting to build a friendship with them is usually inspiring.

Good luck to all who have AC burnout! It's a bummer, but when you feel good about it again it feels so good!

I'd go for getting more badges, and exploring other people's dream towns to get inspiration for your own town! :)

Take a break, and don't plsy until you feel like it. I stopped playing for months, but when I came back I was enjoying the game again.

I'd also suggest to set a goal, so that you have something to work towards. Visit other people's dream towns and get an idea of what you want yours to look like, and slowly work towards it. :)

This is great advice! Badges, room designing, landscaping all helped me get back into the game after Pokemon dragged me away for months. It also helped to have active friends to play with online. Hanging out on the island for an hour messing about playing games is really fun, and that inspired me to really try hard with my town because I'd have guests over and wanted it to look nice and such. Good luck getting your ACNL spark back anyway! ^_^

The 9th of next month will be my 2 year anniversary with ACNL. From time to time I will take a week or so off. I do have two other towns which can be time consuming so burn out does happen. Like others have mentioned, build new character homes, create a cycling town to help others get their dreamies, redesign your town ( I don't necessarily mean starting over), obtain all badges, catalog all furniture, K.K. Slider songs, museum fossils, fish and artwork. My cycling town is going to be used as a rural/farming theme complete with villagers that represent farming such as chickens, goats, dog, cat etc...

I also love decorating rooms. That's why I have 4 characters in all of my towns. When I'm done making my rooms in the houses, I start on the museum rooms. Here are some rooms I've made that were a lot of fun....

Superman bedroom
Italian pizza parlor
rubber ducky bathroom
pirate bar
pacman kitchen
butterfly room
icecream bedroom
Pet shop.
I have 5 towns, so the list goes on.Some of my houses are themed. My Cherish town has a house with special character themed rooms. It turned out really cute. Getting creative with your houses might help you get back into the game.

I understand how you feel. When I first started ACNL, I didn't really like it that much. I guess why I didn't like ACNL was because my old DS got broken and I couldn't play it...On my old DS, I played Animal Crossing: Wild World, and I truly LOVED it. I guess I was a bit heart-broken because of that incident. But later on, after I played ACNL with the Internet, I got to meet lots of new people on the island and found some friends, some of them who became my bffs in the game. After that, I got into the game so much and played it almost every single day. Then later on, I got a perfect town and such, and made my house look awesome. Try meeting new friends to play with, and maybe you'll get back into the game again! :)
