Hi, I just purchased the game and am about to start playing. I'm currently located in the US but will be moving to Europe in a couple of months. Can I change the time zone in the game when I move? Will this cause any problems? Thank you!

I don't think you set a time zone in game. You can change the time zone on your Switch which will cause the game clock to adjust accordingly. Since you're moving the clock forward and not backwards, there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Yeah, there's no time zone in the game, just the time you've set on your Switch and you can change that easily.

I don't think it would cause issues. At most you'd be skipping a day depending on the hours and that's hardly a big deal. You're just moving to Europe, though, so I don't see a problem. I live in Europe and when I'm playing at night I regularly set the clock to morning or afternoon so stuff will be open and it's never been an issue when I go back to normal time.

You can just change the clock on your Switch. The only risk would be, if you have to go back in time (but... I think Europe is ahead of the U.S.? I might be wrong, I don't travel much, lol) your turnips might spoil. Some people (like me) regularly "time travel" by changing the clock and there really isn't a downside, especially when you're not going forward or backward a lot.

You will have to change the clock on the switch (in system settings), and this shouldn't affect the game play at all, unless you buy turnips like others have pointed out (turnips spoil if you time travel). But even so I'm pretty sure turnips only spoil if you go backwards in time (if you are going from US to Europe then you will be going forwards).

Not sure if others have mentioned this, but when changing the clock make sure to close out of the game first (by pressing x on the main switch screen). If you don't do this, the in-game time will not change (until the game is closed out).

The only concern would be games that are locked to the region they were bought in. If you switched over the region to your new one on the Switch the same way some DVDs don't play on certain devices in different regions. But I don't believe that Nintendo has any restrictions for region on their games so you should be totally fine. Just sell turnips off ahead of time just in case.

Updates that nintendo put out (eg. holiday updates) will follow your US timezone but the actual in-game clock can be changed to whatever you like. For example, I bought mine as a digital copy off the US e-shop even though I am located in Asia. I receive updates the same time US folks get them, but my actual game time is the same as the country I reside in! If I moved countries with a different time zone I would also change my clock to match real time :)
