I've played this game for a while but I am fairly new to time travelling. I've been trying to move out a few villagers but it's taking me forever as I've been travelling a day back and forth. I want to play it as safe as possible since I've already messed up once and had to deal with the 16 villager cycle to get somebody back.

Any tips? Is going day by day the only way to truly be safe or is there a better strategy thats just as good?

Day by day is the safest.

I've lost villagers without warning, just TT'g between two days.

Just make sure you talk to them every day to see if anyone is thinking of moving.

Don't TT during event days, like I did, as they can't ping you.

Good to know. And should I be talking to each one of them or are 3 or 4 enough? Thanks so much for your help!

Talk to everyone. Not everybody may tell you a rumor. Also make sure to check pings and run in front of villagers to see if they will ping you before you talk to them.

Definitely day by day as Jon said. Find and talk to every villager when you TT, even just a day. If you have amibo cards, you can use those to replace villagers that you want out, I usually do that, as I'm too lazy to TT day by day to get rid of villagers.

I time travel by going a few days forward then back to present day. Atm I one day ahead, but I talk to villagers too, not a lot. Although if someone mentions someone is going to move, then means the next day (moving forward or back) you need to find that villager and talk them into staying. Going backward in time makes the game act the days haven't changed really at all. It's weird.

P.S. Fleshy, I love your Spyro sig.

All of them.

I don't believe the rumor talk either.
I've had villagers do the "rumors are scary" thing, and had one of them ping to move that same day, after TT'g forward, then back. :(

the consensus is to get at least TWO rumor talks out of different villagers, since it's possible for one of them to say a rumor text and want to move out at the same time. this has never failed me!

I usually only move about a few hours to a day forward. If I have to tt a lot, I do it by day so I don't risk losing a dreamie (unless, of course, I know exactly who's planning to move out and want that villager to move out).
