Okay, This is annoying,

I've been playing GTA3 for nearly 5+ years and i HAD a file on there which was the one i began with, it had all the fast vehicles unlocked, nearly 30 tanks all 'protecting' my safe houses (essentially i spawned them and drove them into/at the entrance of my safehouse carparks), i only had 2 more vehicles left to put in the Portland island collection (not the Enforcement vehicles, i'd done that, the Garage for Buses etc). I had glitched the game to make it so 1 bribe would rid me of any amount of Wanted level (so i could erase a 6 star wanted level), i had also done EVERY mission, got EVERY package (i had 101/100) and i nearly had 9999 ammo on each weapon (grenades, shotgun, rocket launcher and rifle werent Infinate) and i was just spending an hour inputing cheats (weapons ones to make my ammo count higher) and i went to overwrite the file, THEN my ps2 decided to freeze half way through the save.
Meaning i HAD to turn the console off,
Meaning i lost this file which has taken YEARS to create.
I went nuts and almost threw my PS2 out...
Damn thing...
Has this happened to anyone else? (with other consoles as well)

It had nothing to do with the cheats,
Its simply: My Ps2 is old. So old i need to change a bedpan for it.
I was stupid enough to play an old game in an old console and expect it to work :/
Its NEVER seized up b4.
I have a lesser file which has got all the packages, a few guns infinated but not the other stuff :/

From what it sounds like, it sounds like it was a glitch in the game rather than the fault of the system, have you tried playing other games on it?

I cant play brand new DVDs and several other DVDs,
Other games (especially in the GTA series) often stop and then freeze.
So its defo the Ps2

Twice. Once with Harvest Moon. I had over 100 hours in game, then my brother comes along to make a file, and overwrites mine.
The same thing happened later on with Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic.

I accidentally saved over my completed Radiata Stories file, when I had just started a new game, which I intended to complete on the Non-Human Path.

By complete, I mean I had recruited every character on the Human Path, was Lv. 99, and had finished the bonus dungeon. The boss of the bonus dungeon is nearly impossible, I can't even beat it now that I'm Lv. 79 on my newly finished Human Path file.

Okay. Picture this.
I've put hours upon hours into Halo 3, Oblivion, and tons of other games.
My brother is no longer allowed to play video games. (Because of unrelated reasons.)
He decides to steal the Xbox from my room and deletes all of the gamertags and saves.
I just about killed him.
